I own all Avengers movies and all Captain America movies in 3D. Double dipping at $22+ each without Dolby Vision and weak Atmos would be a waste

It was a good day today for the rule of law, speaking of which, my nephew soon begins a new chapter in his life here….https://hls.harvard.edu/dept/academi...emic-calendar/ . It’s not like our family is in need of yet another Ivy League lawyer (personally, I could do with a master plumber or owner of an air conditioning business), but I am quite proud of him and will be MIA for several days while I travel back east to assist him in getting situated in Cambridge and rub shoulders with some old friends.

In the meantime, you and others, keep the thread warm.

Since the fix, hell yeah.
People break up and sometimes get back together right? That was my personal relationship with DV.

Pretty ironic that today, on my birthday I am waking up to this news:

https://news.samsung.com/global/sams...8d00710a1c0e14

"Samsung’s 2018 Premium UHD and QLED TVs Receive ‘HDR10+’ Certification"

However, the funny thing is - What the heck does this even mean? If you read the article, it provides absolutely nothing of value - Especially since 2018 Samsung TVs were supposed to already be HDR10+ compatible out of the box. Seems like yet another "Hey, remember me, HDR10+?" PR piece. SAD!

You would think the lack of DV would be hurting sales for Samsung. I mean, it's the only brand I never considered when shopping for a new TV

that's the interesting thing... They've done so much wrong over the past couple of years that it's difficult to quantify exactly how much of an impact the lack of DV has on their bottom line.

It wouldn't surprise me at all that through their arrogance, they severely underestimate its impact. They probably thought that if they went back to FALD all of their problems would be solved.

However, they've now got issues with EOTF tracking, local dimming problems such as lag and/or flickering, black crushing, botched color tracking out of the box, lack of dolby vision, etc. etc. It's quite a bizarre state of affairs. And I say that as a 75Q9FN owner.

Very strange indeed. Their 2017 TVs are supposed to be HDR10+ compatible too, according to one of their press releases from last year. Where is their certification?

Wow, very happy to see Samsung list Warner Bros. as a HDR10+ content provider. This must be breaking news as it's not listed on Warner Bros. site or on the official HDR10+ current adopters list.

Here's the link to the HDR10+ official list of companies supporting the format.

We will find out if they are BSing (again) if WB doesn't release HDR10+ content by the end of the year like Samsung has promised.

Does that mean that all the HDR10+ fanboys will come back out of the woodworks now?
