Thanks for the heads-up . I’ll add it to my episodic watch list after I’ve finished season 2 of The Witcher which I know was graded using Dolby Vision 4.0 as opposed to season 1 which was not.

I agree; it's a different world we live in, ...today, yesterday, and for the last couple thousand centuries. I just don't know where this HDR world will take us after tomorrow under all the rubble and ashes of this imperfect technologie displayed on our imperfect flat screens .... HDR OLED and all that Dolby Vision stuff in the air and under ground.
Perhaps Samsung and Apple will bring more welcome competition; I just don't know.

What do you know?

Yeah, I empathize with you gkolb. If you have a heart, it can be extremely difficult to compartmentalize one’s mindset away from significantly important worldly happenings, nor do I think we should without giving at least a passing acknowledgement to their existence as we’ve seen most recently from platforms as diverse as last Saturday’s introduction by SNL (who’s mission, conversely, is to do comedy) to sporting events like the soccer match where Roman Yaremchuk received a standing ovation when he came onto the field as a sub, to all forms of internet social media from professional sites like linkedin to Instagram, facebook, twitter, etc.

Personal emotional rollercoaster happenings can also be tough to compartmentalize too. For example and as a cinematic tie-in, inside, my wife can be/is quite clinical when it comes to dealing with suffering or even death, heck, that’s her job to be so; otherwise, worse things could occur, i.e. the potential for greater morbidity because of incorrect decision-making. That said, as fans of the very successful TV show Yellowstone and us being longtime horse lovers to boot - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...an#post7838562 and since I was also interested in seeing how the show was graded by Mitch (last year’s HPA winner for Outstanding Color Grading of a Theatrical Feature), we’ve also taken to watching 1883 - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1399123...m_flmg_eddp_14 – also highly successful in its own right.

Since some may recall that my wife unexpectedly lost a sibling not that long ago (Nov. 2020), which undoubtedly still remains ripe in her memory (if the right button is pushed like a well-acted moving drama which can involve death) for she teared up quite a bit during one of the last episodes of 1883. Ergo, I would advise that if anyone has lost a loved one not too long ago for whatever reason, unless you are inherently cold-hearted or don’t get into any movies/TV shows that intensely, that you have a box of Kleenex on the ready when watching this show, one episode in particular. Good thing is the scene ends with an upbeat aura.

Rather than the fakery content that some movie reviewers are drawn to, I like survival type things especially when based on real events, I guess much due to the fact that I’ve participated in more than one over the years, e.g.

So even though Against the Ice doesn’t leverage HDR so much as to knock one’s socks off, I still enjoyed the movie and like with your Vikings: Valhalla, there is linkage to Greenland (actually even much stronger historical association). Inspired by true events -
