Pan is a BD-66. Some of that will be used up for things other than the actual movie. The movie itself will be between 50-60GB. If they put even 10 minutes of it on USB, that would only require about a 6 GB USB stick. Given that this was specifically a tech demo that Dolby provided him, you can reasonably assume that it was less compressed than what was on the disc (USB flash drives can reach up to 128 GB capacity.)

![]() I think some of you should take a breath, before the Mods have to come and clean up part of this thread. Not that anyone has been un-civil, but please try to be more civil to everyone. (EDIT: Funny, I made this post without ever seeing Oildude's post in the Westworld thread. Now that I saw what he said, I just don't want anyone to think I was parroting him...) ![]() ![]() "... In practice, probably few consumers are aware of all the ins and outs. Universal HDR support is a strong selling point. It works like an insurance premium. After all, as a consumer you never know what will happen in the future. ... Do I favor one particular HDR format? I advocate universal HDR support (especially in hardware) but that doesn’t mean I think HDR formats stand equal chances. HDR10 is omnipresent and Dolby Vision unlikely to be beaten as the premium format. HLG stands a chance of establishing itself as the format for broadcast TV and live OTT streaming but needs to work harder to gain support. SL-HDR1 and HDR10+ seem to be fighting an uphill battle and running behind." https://www.flatpanelshd.com/focus.p...&id=1510231527 |

![]() ![]() I assume that from about here – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...5#post14312525 There have been a bunch of posts from another thread moved over to this thread thus filling out the last couple pages? I’ll quickly skim through and try to contribute to anything that catches my eye. |

![]() He is a fabulous talent with a great storytelling eye and skill in cinematography with the accolades to prove it, but I wouldn’t necessarily use him as an example of someone completely open-mined and quick to try out or embrace new technology because despite the rhetoric, I feel he is a bit more rooted in his comfort zone than more adventuresome lensers like Jeff C. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi37KOyxn-A#t=29m04s or Chivo. (Roger comments after Jeff in this ^ old roundtable and I don’t believe he was joking when he admitted deep down that one part of him is very old fashioned and purist and wished they were still shooting B&W 1.33:1) |

I really wish that you and your alter ego Lineproduct on AVS would quit it. And now that I see more of Ruby's posts on AVS, I see that he has a bias view towards HDR10+. That ruins his creditability with me in reference to his "mandatory" HDR10+ base layer information.

And speaking of links, I guess you are correct about me not knowing how to read. I read the article that you linked and I saw no mention of HDR10+. ![]() |

Is it really that difficult for some people to read? This came from both Samsung and Microsoft Xbox support, who were told about HDR10+ being added by their respective engineering departments. You're free to confirm this for yourself. It's not my job to hold your hand through life.
