I just find it peculiar that it would mess up "normal" HDR10 on other displays. At least the "fix" for the DV elevated black was to either tweak the setting darker or force HDR10 output.

Any of you tried to play VuDu content in Dolby Vision downscaled to HDR10 by running the signal through a receiver that only has HDR10 pass-thru firmware? Thoughts?

Interesting! I did not know they updated the app for any non-Apple devices.

Here is how it looks like from my channel admin side. All of the videos on the Vimeo channel have that tag in the admin.

Can somebody else double check on an Apple device? If anybody else can repro it I will report it to Vimeo, I am chatting with them about HDR anyway.

Thanks!

I actually reported it to them. Seems like there's an issue with 60fps videos only. Not sure if the Apple products have the same issue, but on my KS9800, only 24fps videos on Vimeo play back in HDR.

This applies to all HDR videos on Vimeo, not just the ones on your channel.

Thanks for reporting it! They are pretty responsive, let's hope it gets solved.

They've been responding to me, but they have limited staff in the office between now and the New Year, so they won't be looking into it until then.

If it's the type of dolby vision which does not contain a HDR10 core, then that won't work.

not mentioned in the respective next to the last bullet point ^ is that thee upcoming Rose Parade is planned with scripts in HDR (HLG).
Graphics are easier to do with the metadata free approach, as mentioned last summer - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post13745946

On the “other” forum he creates a new account and gets banned after 4 or so days. He has gone thru 5 or more accounts. But from his posts it’s clear that this is still his favorite site and he follows it regularly.

No it's an LCD panel, with Full Array Local Dimming LED backlight.

No-one said it was an OLED.

HDR is better with higher nits, Oled does suffer nits that for sure, it is good, but higher nits on HDR is better and more zones on LEd is better to of course,

Sony ZD9 100 inch now that is a beast of a tv and it is almost an Oled killer when it comes to the blacks and no blooming or haloing what so ever and Best HDR to date with 2900 nits.
