Yes. The question is whether the firmware back door for x HDMI controller has been left open to apply the respective updates. Even those that can be updated may not be supported by their respective suppliers any more.

If HDMI 2.0b is what is required for dynamic HDR over HDMI, then wouldn't any HDMI 2.0b device automatically support dynamic HDR over HDMI, so long as the device has the necessary processing power and the manufacturer has decided to add support? For example, static metadata transmission over HDMI is in the HDMI 2.0a spec, and I'm not aware of any HDR capable HDMI 2.0a devices that do not support the transmission of static metadata over HDMI. Similarly, I'm not aware of any HDMI 2.0b devices that cannot transmit HLG over HDMI.

Just because it may support parts of a toolset doesn't mean it supports the whole thing. OPPO when questioned would've just said "yeah, sure!" when asked but that's not the case, we can't just expect everything to be compatible. Even if they are, they still need to be tested for compliance which won't happen overnight. The wheels, they turn slowly!

2016, 2017, and even 2018 models before their release are already obsolete for the future. So the answer will be no. Have a good day

SMPTE ST 2094-20/30 Technicolor HDR (aka SL-HDR1) has been elevated from ATSC 3.0 candidate standard to ATSC 3.0 proposed standard (the final step before becoming an approved standard).

Dan, I'm not sure if you want to include Cinema on your new chart. Since Dolby Vision for cinema is actually very different than Dolby Vision for home. But if you do, I'd recommend adding the other two cinema HDR formats of EclairColor and IMAX Laser HDR.
