One from the above pic of the Samsung lab team, rides too.

egg on face not just for an AV journalist, but I’m thinking lots of people speaking above their expertise who propagated this myth repeatedly on internet forums/message boards?

Crickets now from the culprits?

Everything I post is useful at least to some…..a truly historical moment in the useful application of AI (and I’d bet that, as a group, older hardcore videophiles likely have a higher incidence of diabetes or pre diabetes as compared to the average population)…..https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...i#post14959271

even if others can’t quite figure it out at the time –

I read and saw images, that show certain DV/HDR grading software use (targets), the targets include min black level, and max nits. So as the metadata is being generated, its doing so with several targets. Meaning if your display matches those targets, metadata is created for it.

Targets

0.05-600 nits
0.05-1000 nits
0.05-2000 nits

So many questions...

When and where was this? Is this Samsung’s theater cinema?
Was it micro-led’s?

Winnetka! I’ll be driving the 118 past there tomorrow on my way to Moorpark for a retirement party for an acquaintance. (Queue up a driving monologue from SNL The Californians).

Is ICTCP currently planned for UHD-Blu-ray spec?

I believe it can be added to Dolby Vision discs as all DV decoders and DV licensed gear are already compatible with that format and you have a backwards compatible HDR10 layer for everything else. I'm unsure if ICtCp can be added to the base UHD Blu-ray specs without issues with older players and non DV displays.

first, I do not know

however, I do believe that in a Dolby presentation that I saw in the past months, that it is not currently in the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray specifications, and would have to be at some future date (as I best recall, that would be in the 2020 time frame at the earliest)

additionally, i do 'believe' that 'all' streaming content (Dolby Vision) is in ICtCp and has been originally

and, having seen contrasting comparisons, print/video, the improvement is quite obvious and as I see it, something that 'my eyes appreciate'

Most UHD Blu-ray players allow you to change the color model, why not just make it a option through firmware update.

I have a Vizio P55 C1, I told Vizio support on Reddit a month and a half ago that I would like engineering factory calibrate DV EOTF PQ to Delta-E ICtCp for the next firmware update.

I don't know if they did, but DV streamed content on Netflix like Chef's Table Vol.4 looks phenomenal. You can tell colors like Red that can drift to orange don't especially vehicle tail lights. Blues performed well under bright scenes.

All seasons of Chef's Table in DV are pure eye-candy
