Not shabby at all for a transitional month leading into the summer holiday season, which I think traditionally has less activity.

Congrats to all the readers and contributors (https://forum.blu-ray.com/misc.php?d...osted&t=276605) and I pleasantly notice a couple of new-to-the-thread guys participated in May.
not sure if we made it to 69,000 views by midnight for the month of May, so to be conservative, we'll record May as 68,000 and change.

Just PMed this by a member who prefers to remain anonymous. Apparently, in the June issue of FJI which is freely downloadable (mid-page on the right), there is an interview with Rob Hardy (DP for Mission: Impossible-Fallout) - http://www.filmjournal.com/

In the U.K., the medical profession is being pushed to breaking point across the board in my opinion. Cuts cuts cuts..

Everyone knows about Brasil, Germany, Spain, Argentina, etc. but this year one question in my mind for the upcoming World Cup is whether Roberto Martinez can mold Belgium into getting to the semi-finals this year....I hope so, just not at England's expense.

Yeah, I fancy Belgium this year for some reason.

Belgique? Hmmm. They won't get anywhere if they have to play Benteke up front.

I doubt he’ll start unless Mertens is in poor form and I think R. Lukaku is pretty much a given for up top. I see Benteke more as being an asset like Giroud is used for ManU. His value potential being headers late in the match.

P.S.
In the midst of all the World Cup 4K and HDR broadcast announcement goodness which I've now seen has been rampantly tweeted and facebook shared all over the internet by videophiles seeking the best sporting picture quality (although not specifically mentioning hopes of mitigating stadium shadows covering the pitch which we suffer with in SDR....no afternoon matches scheduled in Russia (local time?), if my fellow countrymen (and women) are wondering why the hell we’re not addressing the USA wrt the World Cup….. well folks, you see, we didn’t qualify for the big show as we lost to that powerhouse that ganged up on us…Trinidad and Tobago.

Which of the above statements is probably false? Could it be all of the above?

Maybe a better title for the article is “Where is HDR10+?”
Quite. I've seen no evidence whatsoever that HDR10+ exists. A few claims, absolutely zero evidence.

And here we are almost TWO YEARS down the line, and still, NO DOWNLOADABLE DEMO CLIP! Someone please prove to me it's not vapourware and supply a downloadable demo clip.

Press releases, fanciful claims relayed via third parties that Amazon are streaming it so a few limited Samsung TVs, yet the reality is that no-one with a supposedly supported TV has ever reporting seeing the HDR10+ logo appear in the Amazon interface.

Amazon, like an obstreperous child, refuses to change their playback bar to indicate which HDR format is being streamed. The word "HDR" on the playback bar just will not cut it in the year 2018. Amazon's playback bar needs to say either HDR10, or dolby vision, or HDR10+. Unless and until that's done, I'll not believe Amazon are streaming HDR10+ anywhere in the world.

But then again Amazon are the company that can't even provide a search function that finds HDR content in its interface, and lists HDR content entirely separately (as a title with "Ultra HD" shoved onto the end, potentially doubling the size of the catalogue). I bet most people with HDR TVs don't find this content, it's so carefully concealed they don't want you to see it. I don't know why they don't go the whole hog:
  • The Man in the High Castle [stereo]
  • The Man in the High Castle [mono]
  • The Man in the High Castle [DD 5.1]
  • The Man in the High Castle [stereo, HD]
  • The Man in the High Castle [mono, HD]
  • The Man in the High Castle [DD 5.1, HD]
  • The Man in the High Castle [stereo, HDR]
  • The Man in the High Castle [mono, HDR]
  • The Man in the High Castle [DD 5.1, HDR]
  • The Man in the High Castle [stereo, HD, HDR]
  • The Man in the High Castle [mono, HD, HDR]
  • The Man in the High Castle [DD 5.1, HD, HDR]

I mean, why have only TWO titles when you can have 12, Amazon? Eh?

Sorry for the rant but Amazon's interface is ridiculous and a disgrace.

For a momentary diversion from all the devices and seriousness (don’t stare at the Atomos during the AVATAR segment above) of the expo, what I’d personally like to see for next year’s Cine Gear LA is a cotton candy eating contest à la –

Steed, in addition to HDR, I remember you like your XR (short for AR, VR, MR - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/xr-on-t...ts-46238513639 ) too.

Been busy to comprehensively respond to all posts like yours above at the time, but someone sent me this heads-up link - https://augmentedworldexpo.com/auggie-award-finalists/ (2018 Auggie Award winners were announced a few days ago and apparently are a big deal). You can click on the pictures and they should link you up to the Youtube or Vimeo for each project.
