This is NOT a mistake! They keep repeating this audacious claim! Yet no Amazon customer has ever seen the HDR10+ logo which should be appearing. They could, and should, have been splashing lots of downloadable demos for a YEAR now. Either they want people to embrace their format, or they don't. |

I don't really understand what demo HDR10+ would even appeal to.
A/V enthusiasts would rather have DV as it's better (on paper) and many major releases are mastered in this format for theaters. So you are getting the more accurate director's vision. The casual viewer won't care about HDR10+ or likely be able to tell the difference between it and reg HDR Not to mention, HDR10+ so far behind right now, that unless they make it available by firmware for existing TV's and players, I don't see how it can ever make much of an impact |

It's called a relatively free alternative which can produce excellent results and could dominate if Dolby does not lower its licensing fees.
My equipment is not capable of either format so I am looking at this from a pure business perspective. |

Must be a very good quality panel if you are hanging on to it.
I just don't think that HDR10+ will have real-life applications unless they move quick and I mean QUICK by offering firmware upgrades to all current models and a vast number of titles in HDR10+, and even then, I doubt it will take up |

Those that can only view HDR10 will not be affected negatively at all; those can view view HDR10Plus but not dolby vision will get a better experience than HDR10. Everyone's a winner - or rather, no-one is a loser by this and some people are happier. That's why it'll happen, if it happens - the automatic process for generating the dynamic metadata has been posted on this thread and for the content creators, it's merely a tick ("check") in a box in the software. There's no major reason not to tick the box. |

The debate really isn't about DV versus +, but + versus time. Samsung made the mistake of suggesting that + would be ready for mass consumption or they were trying to slow down the studio, stream giant adoption rate of DV. Like I said, the market doesn't wait.
So obviously dynamic metadata/tone mapping and the implementation requires a lot more time than two years. ICtCp needs to be added to +, display calibration procedures needs to be created. There is a lot of work ahead for their engineers. It hasn't been a smooth ride for Dolby either. Stacey Spears and Pruitt don't make comments on the progress of +. |

We need better HDR TVs and Dolby Vision front projectors. ...And all in 3D/4K too.
We need a newer and better Blu-ray disc format too. We need Disney to get on with the program. |
