* I revisited...HDR10 - 2.40:1 - Dolby Atmos

There are some terrifically good looking HDR scenes.

That’s not by chance. The colorist for Sicario: Day of the Soldado has much experience, see – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...x#post11653357

but in that particular ^ Vimeo clip, instead of the 9 min. mark, skip ahead to the 18 min. mark and go from there to hear from Stephen. As an aside, Stephen’s boss and mentor – Stefan S. is the planned D.I. colorist for Top Gun: Maverick.

No expense spared in color grading for TG: M.

Just checked one of the hyperlinks above ^. Lazy me , I forgot to do the numbers for the September views of the HDR Discussion Thread. Oh well, when I have more time later tonight or perhaps tomorrow, for penance, I’ll try at least to do a quick calculation of the viewership for this thread as of today from the time/date of August 31st when we last had an official count.

I know its been rather slow, but believe me, not for ITU meetings (in relation to things HDR) this week.

Are there other cinematography artists related to 'Blade Runner 2049', between 'Sicario' and 'Sicario: Day of the Soldado' and 'Top Gun: Maverick' and 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout' and 'Edge of Tomorrow: Live - Die - Repeat' and 'The Book of Eli', Penton-Man?

for the past 6 weeks and 3 days to be exact. Not at all too shabby given the tiny contributor to views ratio.

A shout out of acknowledgement to the handful of regular as well as new contributors to this thread over the past several weeks in, no less, this supremely geeky (tech) and thusly, relatively unvisited portion of the forum, as compared to other subforums further on up the home page.

Good job.

Sure there are some common cinematography relations.
I was asking you because I learn from you.
Denis Villeneuve directed two of them, Tom Cruise is in three of them, Emily Hunt is in two of them, there are beautiful and detailed shadow scenes in all of them that have a similar dreamlike effect, and other visual verisimilitudes to any attentive film observer like us.

And then there are the music scores ...

and more fans will soon be rocking https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post15428962 <- note, with regards to the last sentence, in case some are unaware, the movie has since been pushed back to 2020, not so much in that it is expected to take a whole extra year to finish it, more like the production just couldn't make that rapidly approaching summer 2019 release window and needed extra time.

People beginning to think this HDR thing isn’t only a flash in the pan?, as some luddites might have hoped.

I'm no cinematographer so I'm wondering why they need those massive lights (with some sort of scrim or gel in front) by the cameras even though it's taking place in blazing sunshine?

and the hard deck place is really coming along with palm trees and such, nicely now –

*Waboman would be happy as a polar bar.
