Enough for now, work beckons.
I think Endgadget is chasing their tail on HDMI 2.1 this coming January.

Another report a month ago was that one of the HDMI chip makers had just gotten 2.1 chips finalized. Too soon for those chips to get into design and production for 2019 CES TV's, most likely. Some folks think 2.1 chips won't get used until 8K TV's hit the market, although I suspect that is up for a lot of speculation and discussion.

Lordy, ‘flat panels’ let’s try to come up with something at least a bit more original....4 hrs. after the fact.

Not that I rate flatpanels after that clickbait-laden 'the sky is falling' article about the studios hating us becuz there's no Dolby Vision on disc, but shirley they're just reporting the same press release as the other place? They're allowed to do such things, it's not like they're touting it as a world exclusive or anything.

I could be wrong, but I think that ‘flat panels’ actually read the ‘engadget’ piece first (without acknowledging so), rather than the LG press release, thus accounting for the similar tagline…."teases/teasing".
Reminds me of how the UHD twitter news account copycatted Richard back in the day exactly with the word “discreetly” –
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...r#post12982690 .

These guys get paid for their ‘work’, no? One would think as “journalists” they could compose something a bit more original for their followers in their headers.

Yesterday I posted one of my 'reviews' in a thread without reading what was just upwards from mine, and while not exactly identical we both led off with the same sentiment that we didn't think it looked all that great, then proceeded to elaborate why, having both spotted the same problem. Stuff happens. And you'd be surprised at how many people who actually get paid for this stuff are just terrible writers in general.

You need the latest Fire TV Stick.

Now don’t be frustrated in that you couldn’t share downing a few brewskis at the fire pit in front (see my signature picture below) as despite his craving (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0SwwyqhJMs#t=1s ), he couldn’t either.

Perhaps with UHD Blu-ray reviews where the phraseology is commonly repeated (e.g. inky blacks, etc.) but I don’t believe for a moment that the descriptor “discreetly” was at all a coincidence, and neither did Richard….

It wasn't that sort of pat generalisation that I was talking about, but whatever. I don't know why I'm even defending flatpanelsHD, I guess I'm bored.

Activating Developer Options on the newest 4k Firestick reveals hdr10+ information on Amazon Video movies/shows. Waiting for more information from avs users. At minimum, any tv brand can use the newest 4k Firestick and see the information. Not sure if older 4k firesticks are compatible.

Is that your beach home? I'd down a few brewskis there. Maybe a shot or three of the agave nectar. Throw some shrimp on the barbie. You know, living la vida PM.

After further testing from multiple members at avs, everything hdr on Amazon shows up as hdr10+ in the video Info when you use the developer Info option. Netflix shows regular hdr10.
