Here's another "edit" point, see if you can spot it:

If he ever visits my humble abode to do some calibrating, I’ll make sure to bring in all the farm animals from the pasture and lock them up safely in the shed out back, especially the sheep.

Wait. You have a pasture?
We had one when I was a young’n.

Personally though, I’d be most impressed if he (coming from Manchester? if I recall) could correctly predict who will win the Prem this year as I’m soon putting money on that and our local Blu-ray.com thread on the Prem has stalled out for which I’d otherwise turn to for advice.
Vincent's a hoot. I don't habitually watch his or anyone else's YT vids but if someone posts one of his on here then I usually take a look.

As for de Prem, I think the World Cup thread killed any chance of the regulars getting on like we once did in the main footy thread because lines of national rivalry were laid bare, as they often are at these two year intervals for major tournaments. The major difference this time is that England did rather well and boy, did it ever piss off the Irish, Scots and Welsh lads who in turn riled up the Englanders, rinse and repeat. I can't be arsed to pretend to like those guys any more and besides, I'm a Palace fan: there's only so many times people can put up with the doom and gloom that radiates from my general vicinity. The thread's better off dead.

Sorry to hear, as I missed all that commotion I guess what with our trip up north to LordoftheRings neck of the woods and all. Welp, on a lighter note, you have your bald eagle with Palace and we have ours too with American football on this side of the pond (they call him Clark, I believe)….

Yeah, that was a pretty cool moment which added a wee bit of comfort to those of us who were rooting for Notre Dame. Tell me this, you or others (Geoff, gkolb, Salty, mrtickleuk, Robert etc.) all seem to have a pretty good feel for the pulse of folks on other threads of this forum (whereas I haven’t visited Robert’s CES 2019 thread since I discreetly posted a tidbit on p.2 of that thread and threw in something later I think the day after Christmas to keep the conversation going), so what’s the deal with the overall tone of the membership this year with regards to flashing their plastic with CES approaching?

Are you seeing some serious potential buyer inquiries of this or that device emerging, or are most feeling audio/video buyer fatigue and reverting to window shopping banter with no real intention of purchasing? And where is our Best UHD Blu-ray Disc of 2018 poll located, do we have one? This outside list does nothing for me as it doesn’t even reveal how many people voted - https://hd-report.com/2019/01/03/pol...nce-july-2018/

Suggested changes didn’t pass final committee draft ballot. Perhaps less is more.
What were the changes which were rejected?

^ no comment from anyone? Well, perhaps all the livestreams of the CES press conferences tomorrow will begin to catalyze some impulse buying.

Dan, I see you showed some interest to learn more with regards to thee above Insider podcast. In case you’re unfamiliar, Dror is Beamr’s CTO and to put a face to the voice (granted a bit dated though) -

It will have to be a difficult question though (necessitating some lucky guessing) as one will not find the answer on the various internet social media platforms, e.g. tweeter, facebook, etc., nor imdb. I’m thinking more on the order of something like this - what type of shipping vessel was used to shoot some offshore scene(s) for Top Gun: Maverick in the Pacific (as opposed to the Atlantic) - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...e#post15794883

Carry on device dudes, I’m done. Time to watch (presuming my DVR worked) some American football as my team’s in the playoffs today .

All quiet on the western front.

he may have had a chance at being an extra! in Top Gun:Maverick…..if, of course, he submitted a photo not wearing a T-shirt, shorts and flip flops. Heck, in case Wabo didn’t have a facebook account and was blocked, I think I even included a twitter link of the abstract for his convenience - https://twitter.com/vivsdcasting/sta...13292425883649 somewhere in those previous pages from early Oct.

I’ve got to hit the sack early because it’s a back-to-work day for me tomorrow. Anything of note from today’s NVIDIA’s press event at CES?

While not entirely video related, this is interesting HDR news to me. Panasonic's new Lumix S full frame cameras will have an HLG Photo mode that will record to some sort of HSP file and play back only on Panasonic HDR TVs (so far).

We really need a good open-source HDR photograph file format yesterday, to be as ubiquitous as JPG is.
