I know that . But considering we have a lot of lurkers here who are not members and for those guests when they read your posts without logging in, I don’t think they can see ~ Bob at the end of your post in your sig, only your user name LordoftheRings, so occasionally for their benefit to help them follow the conversation without confusion I refer to you as the later despite it taking more typing.

Had to double check and make sure I wasn't in the travel channel thread.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd prefer a "dumb" tv with a kick ass picture. I don't care one iota about built in apps. I have other devices for that. Last thing I need is my tv talking to my toaster. Nothing good can come of that.

Very cool, and Bora Bora does look very HDR, above and below water.
What a paradise to go relax and take a break from it all.

My TV is entirely safe because I don't connect it to the Internet!! I'm with wabo on this, I don't need anything else in my display apart from a kickass picture (and sound, in my case) but it seems to be standard practice to load them with as much bloatware as possible, lest the average consumer be consumed by their FOMO. (I've said this before but I'm reminded again of when I sold TVs and people would aks two questions: "is this a smart TV?" followed by "what is a smart TV?". They don't know what it is but they sure don't wanna miss out on it! )

Same here and I'll do the same with any future TV I might end up with.

I like the features of my Sony Android TVs. I use Netflix 4k, MLB Baseball, VUDU in 4K, Movies Anywhere in 4K and several other apps. In addition to great picture quality I appreciate all the additional content available through Android TV.

It’s the one on the right. If you’ve never heard of the establishment, Bloody Mary’s has quite the legacy -

Funny thing about proven Hollywood Insiders, even when they retire, they still tend to have access to inside information before it’s otherwise publicly revealed

I’ve often wondered given the battles on the forums as to the ‘best’ TV, what percentage of people reading own and watch more than one type of TV regularly, i.e. in different rooms of their apartment/condo/house. I freely admit that we (wife and I) now no longer watch on our OLED any programs having persistent logos, etc. on the bottom due to all of the reported cases of burn-in. I don’t babysit any TV. The LCDs get far greater usage in our home(s).

if that monitor doesn’t suffer from either blooming or Apple raising the black level in order to hide that artefact, then it’s got to have a pretty magical algorithm in order to qualify as a true reference mastering monitor comparable to the BVM as they insinuated - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...r#post16498561
And another shortcoming that the Apple 6K ‘Pro Grading’ monitor appears to have as compared to the true top tier reference grading monitors is that for content creation, in order to get the 6K image to standard resolutions post shops work with like 4K DCI or UHD, seems Apple will have to scale it down with some interpolation, which means it won’t be pixel for pixel like with the Sony BVMs or the FSI.

It's hard to put in words what we see ... we have to be there, here and see it with our own eyes, in this super popular HDR thread with all the stars ... Tom, Chuck and Bora Bora.

I've babysat a plasma, treated it like a goddamn princess, and still ended up with the demarcation of 2.35 letterbox bars burned into the screen. The thing about my VERY movie-centric viewing habits is, they're my viewing habits and I'm not changing that up because of a TV, not again. Sure, if there's no high end LCD that hits the heights of the ZD9 again then my hand may well be forced into going OLED, but I'm hoping that my ZD9 keeps going for long enough that new tech types and variations emerge in the meantime, and not just as showroom prototypes but the realeffingdeal.com.

You mean you’re not watching our Women’s National Team at the World Cup 2019 trying to get on as many magazine covers, etc. as they can and boost their individual chances for personal appearance fees, future book and lucrative individual sponsorship deals by doing totally inappropriate celebrations after already having slaughtered Thailand after the 6th goal or so - https://www.foxnews.com/sports/us-wo...als-in-blowout ?

Well, no matter how much I love seeing soccer played, honestly, I’m not watching them either,
as even when I played as a lowly amateur and we severely outclassed another opponent with a barrage of goals scored, we toned it down after the 3rd or 4th goal when we knew victory was essentially guaranteed. I really like and admire the way our Women’s National Team is pushing for equal pay with the men because not only do I believe that’s right and long overdue for women be it athletes or other jobs, but also as far as I’m concerned, they’ve played far more exciting soccer than the U.S. men for years. However, I don’t respect them at all for their behavior and I don’t think they hold a candle to the professionalism shown by the likes of Mia Hamm and some of her teammates who years before blazed the trail for all that followed.

At this point, if they don’t change their ways I wouldn’t even watch them if I could get their matches in 240 fps – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...k#post15370767

for better clarity to detail - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ps#post7221029

Bring on more movies and episodic content for me this summer…..https://www.instagram.com/company_3/?hl=en
Heck, I’ll even watch this for his non-cheating skills - https://www.instagram.com/p/ByD_YwDhuEV/
