I'm not sure if this is the thread (admins can put it is the correct topic, if they want to). But how are all you keeping the versions of HDR version in your mind?
For Me HDR10 is HDR, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. I sometimes get confused between HDR10 and HDR10+ in release details and pages for BDs/UHDs. So I kind of get sad when I see HDR10, and think they mean HDR10+. As I guess I'm getting use to the lingo. What are your thoughts. Would it be better to just say HDR = HDR10 and HDR+ = HDR10+. just wondering not trying to start wars. RI |

I'll got how there defined now, no + is regular. Also I think HGL and Technicolor HDR would be easier to say ;3 Please don't get mad. RI PS: Lee and GK I've been trying to look for a book or articles or anything on the history of the Technicolor, from beginning till now. I tend to get side tracked and then is hard to figure out what i was looking for ![]() I also wouldn't mined reading up on there adv-HDR. Will it be rolling out soon. You can PM me the links if want. Thank you. |

I know, I know, the last several pages have been rather HDR intensive.
Here you go, for the executive summary, scroll down to the last sentence in the article - https://britishcinematographer.co.uk...n-imax-program |

Great program btw, ATJ was so convincing, and she was too clever for herself in Emma, another gem. I will say my Sony Z9D has streaming profiles that did not match my normal SDR or HDR settings (SDR was too hot on Netflix) and (HDR was not set to Max brightness on Amazon or Disney). Had to do some tweaking to tame down SDR brightness and Max the HDR brightness. |

and for the Camerimage 2020 session on His Dark Materials, starting @ about 0:32:55 timestamp (-53:53, counting down), the reasoning (creative intent) to limiting the highlights (even with fire, etc.) to 650 nits with the look modification transform for the HDR master - https://online.ecfcamerimage.pl/vods/vod.488

Just dropping a note that currently this thread is at 7,788,730 views.
I know COVID-19 has taken most of the air from many topics (and that thing we had Nov 3), but HDR interest still is moving along. And I continue to see new converts to 4K in various threads, so upgrades continue to happen. ![]() |
