Robert, I liked the nice and well-deserved testimonial you and Bob recently offered for Vincent T.

As to Tenet, note to Wabs – Tenet is challenging enough to follow without being under the influence, so I’d refrain while watching it. Save the tequilla for Valentine’s night, you player you - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post18259808

I think you need a certain minimum of posts to open/start your own threads.
I don't know what that minimum is but I'm quite certain that it has to be more than 3.
Maybe 10?

Do you think Adaptive High Dynamic Range (measured from the light in each room by a sensor inside the TV) is the future? ...Like Automatic Acoustic Room Correction from active loudspeakers with a microphone inside.
_____

* @ Penton; HDR only works if you're alive.
Alive first, HDR after.

When directly confronted with the issue, preservation of sight is a strong instinct and I would not be surprised even stronger in videophiles than the typical layperson population. I remember back when my wife was treating HIV/AIDS patients back in the early days of the disease and she’d mention to me that more than one patient would tell her, paraphrasing here – ‘I’d rather lose my life rather than my vision due to some HIV related eye disease’.

Where’s Wabs ^ ? Snowed in?
Or, for those having more reserved lifestyles, an SDR alternative after a chocolaty dessert (delivered and purchased thru your favorite local bakery) - https://www.paramountmovies.com/movies/love-story

I want one ^ in the 96" size Class, and for less than the 31" above.
Who can accommodate me? ...In the near future before and after being vaccinated.

Cool

Randy Watson is very welcome right now.

* Snow here, half foot, looks very nice, I'm waiting for the power to go down anytime...it always does with snow. With the snow the tree branches get heavy and they snap, and fall on the electric wires.

You are correct about sitting closer to a smaller display in order to have a larger field of view. A 8K HDR monitor of say 30 to 40" in diagonal and viewed from say two feet or closer is similar to an IMAX REAL theater screen viewed from say 60 to 80 feet.

Sure, the experience is not the same and there are no 50 speakers and subs in the monitor room, but then the colors aren't the same either. And, a 9.4.6 surround sound system in a smaller room is nothing to spit @. It can hit 140 decibels if that is what people are after, and down to 5 Hertz.

Anyway, size does matter...it's all very relative, proportionally equidistant to the complementary Valentine date.
* Bonus:

Lol, the power can go down for months, I got a warm igloo with a goddess.
Besides it's the perfect time, Valentine.
