How would you rate the HDR to SDR conversion of the following samples?

Thank you.
Any HDR down conversion is a degradation, in my opinion.

It may take a few years for us to get back up to BC again - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post15336256 , either for a mountain bike race or simply a relaxing vacation, however, until then, you pick out an eatery popular among locals in Victoria for a leisurely lunch, needn’t be fancy, and we’ll be there to break bread with you ....as we've done with a few members over the years.

Meanwhile, we’ll be watching the Globes virtually this evening - https://www.goldenglobes.com/article...been-announced

Cool, the Globes tonight; we'll see if Mank strikes a chord with the movie critics.

* We'll come to San Diego sometimes; you and your wife deserve our presence during calmer/safer times.

It’s a deal if you take the well-worth-it short ferry ride from San Diego to our ‘island’ and we’ll happily escort you around the neighborhood before dining out.
As to Mank, I think many cinematographers as well as HDR advocates, are rooting for it given - https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/be...0period%20look.

Why would they make a movie on how Pacino pronounced "Man" as Tony Montana?

Increased 313,727 over Dec 31. Nice bump again this month, even though CES was virtual. Not much going on with new 4K players (other than the addition of Tascam which has a dedicated thread.) The news about 2021 displays seems to be taking place in the LED and OLED threads in Display Technologies. I miss them being here in the 4K Hardware thread.
The number of Views for this thread as of tonight is 8,518,076 minus the Jan 31 count of 8,323,556 = 194,520 increase. Even though we're 3 days shorter than January, still a marked decline from the Jan increase.

We can't burn the barn doors off every month. I still think having most of the display discussions for specific telly's going on in LCD and OLED sections means fewer eyeballs come here to the HDR Hardware area. OH well, just my pet theory, based on me. Great believer in Synergy.

Still, thanks to everyone, members and visitors for looking in on some of the best discussion on HDR and other tech (and sometimes not so tech) matters. Cheers!

Mank, zero Golden Globe. It's ok, there are more/better movie critic rewards to come ...

Soul, best original score.

So, who might that winner turn out to be?

despite the interesting and often amazing historical significance of how these various Italian dishes (including the best Balsamic vinegar in the world) originated and evolved, I’ve learned not to watch this fabulous CNN series hosted by Stanley - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001804/ , when one is hungry, e.g. -
https://www.cnn.com/videos/foodanddr...ing-for-italy/

meanwhile, for the more technologically minded - on the program for the upcoming Hollywood Professional Association Tech Retreat in mid-March, an appetizer -

“HDR/WCG technologies have added increased complexity in production workflows, starting with camera setup all the way to post production. For post production, HDR workflows create unique challenges: how do I transfer HDR artistic intent? How can I ensure that my HDR content fits within the end user’s HDR display capabilities? We will consider a new set of HDR measurements that relate to the picture screen area, that aim to help answer these questions. For camera setup, each camera manufacturer has come up with their own way to compress and represent HDR content, leading to difficulties in both camera setup and in visualizing changes in light level (due to the non-linearity in the camera gammas). The talk will introduce a new type of waveform trace called as the “stop” waveform that aims to address these challenges.”
