I noticed that too. Not sure if it was mentioned in this thread, but IMAX announced last year how they "certified" all the digital sensors larger than Super35. Basically another marketing ploy, watering down their brand, similar to when they created all the Liemaxes.

Aye, it's nothing more than their usual branding trickery. We will see the first IMAX branded iPhone or something like that soon enough.

And it's not that TG2 wasn't shot with some fine cameras because those Venices (Venicii?) are lush, but this is just IMAX targeting gullible punters as usual. By all means market it as "formatted for IMAX", but "filmed entirely in IMAX [because we slapped a sticker on a camera]" is taking the piss.

it says filmed in IMAX, not filmed in 70/65mm.

Given
the tradition
of IMAX essentially indicating shot with IMAX cameras, I can understand some thinking it seems a bit sneaky to initiate a Filmed in IMAX program for business purposes; however, in the spirit of fair play, from the article including illustrative pictures from its use on set that LordoftheRings contributed a while ago -
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...x#post17258606

“The IMAX aspect ratio is 1.43:1, which is pretty close to the VENICE native Full Frame aspect ratio of 1.5:1. When shooting full-frame….”

Does full screen peak have any baring on how well a display handles content? All the HDR capable professional are capable of achieving at least a 1000 nits full screen, the Pulsar edging the rest with 2000 nits.

But, 5 years in to the consumer display market and brands Sony have yet to produce a consumer display that does 1000 nits full scree. Is it just a energy regulation issue?

Only Microsoft could be so idiotic as to add a new feature which isn't on by default yet it requires you to select an option which describes itself as a legacy feature. Whoops! (Because they've gone and lumped it in with said feature, instead of having a separate selection for it).

That's only one reason why Google and Apple are leading in the world; @ the edge of superior advanced HDR technology.
