The Reavon X200 doesn’t have any Wi-Fi feature.

* People should wait for "professional" unbiased reviews to discover what this player is all about. So far the specs aren't impressive (the DAC among), the price is outrageous, there are many détails missing, the support is scary, no HDR10+ (forever), tra-la-la ...

Pépé is a funny guy; the video is simply a promotional advertising intro.
He said it; no test was performed...that's for another time. ...When the chips fall all together...perhaps in the fall of 2021...September? We'll see ...

Anyway no HDR10+ is a big letdown for many. ... No Wi-Fi either (both players...X100 & X200).

That's right; no built-in Wi-Fi, unlike in most (majority) players...Oppo, Panasonic, Sony, etc. ...Even ones that cost couple hundred bucks.

"Users can play back multimedia files from external USB drives, or from DLNA/Samba local network storage. But Reavon users may have to rely on an Ethernet cable for network connectivity; WiFi is not yet on the features list. (The Oppo players featured built-in WiFi, for those keeping score at home.)"

And, no HDR10+ support, ever.

"I got in touch with Reavon via their Contact form & Jacques was most helpful, he confirmed that HDR10+ will never be supported in a future firmware update nor will Dolby Vision be supported within the MKV container format as he explicitly stated that it is primarily a disc player and advised not to purchase if one is after comprehensive file playback support."

Now after that ^ , I think our video-watching cat desires a new fresh box, a la from a Reavon player this time.

Problem is, then the dog will undoubtedly want a new lounge bed. This hobby is getting as bad as maintaining a boat, i.e. another money pit. The only thing that makes it worthwhile are the perks, Wabs.

Well, we (wife and I) are on the coast, near the ocean, so not affected much at all….although, thinking ahead I have been tempted to purchase a portable generator (been studying up on starting vs. running watts) from home depot to mitigate possible rolling blackouts in the future. In general, the state (Cali) is hurting because of the drought and the heat. A local firefighter I know (and ride with) is scared sh!tless of what this summer and fall will bring. I imagine from now on, not only us, but various parts of the country, and for that matter the world (recently Belgium and Germany), will just have to deal with extreme weather, in one way or another, due to climate change.

Did you notice from 1:10 to 1:20 ... on how inserting a disc requires extra vigilance?
Observe how close to the edge ...

And, no HDR10+ support, ever. ...Neither Wi-Fi.
This player is for the French and German markets.
Here in my artic Canadian igloo, it's a no-fly zone. This thing won't disloge my Oppo or make any mental dent in my intimate desires of life.
I reserve my ultimate judgment till true professional reviews, but for now my opinion is not impressed for one drop of rain.

* Oppo should come back, with an 8K HDR BR universal player...UDP-322
3 = next 8K gen
22 = year
