Right, cheers. I must have misheard it, was just background TV while I was doing something else

Well, I saw it, and it was bloody fantastic! I could give or take the 3D, I think it would work perfectly in 2D. The 3D wasn't as bad as EP.I, it was quite well done actually.

I'll be going to see it in 2D at some point over the next week. Just can't get over how much better than the previous three films this is, it's easily up there with ANH and Empire.

I doubt we'll see a new complete box set for a fair few years yet. I expect once the next two episodes are done and the sequel trilogy is complete then we might get the complete set.

But by then it'll probably be on UHDBD

See, I said the 3D didn't add anything

BTW my 2nd favorite film of the franchise.

My Star Wars collecting took a serious blow when Lucas embargoed everything from the US prior to the release of Episode 1. I'm tempted to start again, but I've got a lot of catching up to do

I bought the boxset of the 6 films about a year ago, because although I'm not a Star Wars fan, I do like my little home cinema setup and they do look and sound fantastic. Plus it'll be interesting to see what my girls think of the films when they're older.

As for this new one, I'm going to wait for the blu-ray and give that a go. Can't be arsed to go the cinema for it.

Is there any chance of them releasing 1-6 individually like the steelbooks but in standard amaray cases?

I preordered the Zavvi steel, too.

Just a question, which are the best versions of Star Wars on BD? I see we have two "complete" sets, one of which is almost half the price of the other? And do they feature the pure, original, versions of the films or the versions Lucas tampered with after the prequels were released?

Go for the cheapest one. Discs are identical and only one version has been released. The blu rays have slightly different versions with a couple of the films (cgi yoda instead of the puppet one in Phantom Menance).

Original versions have never been released on blu.

Although aw I'm sad it's only the fiddled ones. Will we ever get the proper ones released?

Looks like it is very unlikely. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets yet another release when Force Awakens come out and I bet it will be another repackage.

Changes with the OT blu ray can be read here.

I've got the steelbook on order but will most likely get the US version as it will come with a digital copy.

Preordered the Zavvi steelbook but waiting to see if we get stiffed on this release, it is a Disney release in the UK after all, I'm betting on a massive chunk of extras being missing as per usual.
