Thanks for the info, but from which country is it? One of the Scandinavian countries?

Even more annoying for the poor souls (me ) who have sold their dvds in anticipation for this set. And I had the Aussie disc of EP 2 where the headbutt was included. So those deleted scenes are missing and the Empire of Dreams doc from the Original trilogy is lost aswell. In theory its nice to think the dvds you bought have some worth and you can keep them but I wish we knew in good time.

It's massively annoying that now I've got to choose whether to sell/give away my old sets, and save some valuable shelf space; or keep both for the sake of a few extras. It's not that difficult to add them into the new box sets, is it?

I think it's from Sweden.

If you buy the separate trilogies you could have bought cases so the DVD's fitted inside but I'd imagine you're going for the full set if you want to keep your DVD extras.

You can say this about George Lucas he doesn't recycle material. He wants us to keep our DVD's, including the original theatrical versions and our Laser Discs and VHS tapes. You have to keep all versions of the film as he keeps changing them. So if you like a version better than another you better hold on to it, and hope it doesn't snap if it's VHS or rot if it's a Laser Disc or get scratched if it's a DVD!

The only thing I'm annoyed about is losing the deleted scenes on the prequel DVDs, but I did make £30 from selling all 6 so I did pretty well.

Yes. The set is identical in all the Scandinavian countries. chip75's pick is as good as any.

I've managed to rip Empire of Dreams.

I only watched those deleted scenes the other day.

Made about the same myself tiger on ebay a few months ago now. I was well pleased at the time, now I'm not so sure. I'm currently in the process of...ahem...acquiring empire of dreams. Won't be as ideal as having the proper disc but it will suffice. Just a bit of work in it

How is it that the rest of the major online retailers haven't followed suit and matched Amazon yet? This is getting crazy!

I am ready to pre-order with someone right now, so long as I have a chance of getting it at the end of this coming week, or Saturday. Amazon, as we all know, won't deliver it early - but play, and especially HMV might! Why aren't they down to £57 yet? £10 more expensive. Ridiculous!

At this rate I'll be buying it in-store next Monday. I can't recall such a major release having such a huge difference in price between major retailers online.

Tell me about it! I've already pre-ordered with HMV, but with Amazon now being £10 less I'm tempted to cancel and switch. However...I know with HMV there's a good chance I'll get it Friday or Saturday, with Amazon that's very unlikely. What to do?

The packaging may be the same, but you say your set includes a French audio track - this would be unusual for a UK release. For some reason, UK DVDs rarely include French tracks, though TBH I'm not sure whether it's equally common on Blu-ray…

The UK Alien BD set, also from Fox, had French audio & subtitles. In fact, the UK Alien set included the same languages as my Star Wars set.

Its not weird, it's Canadian French and Latin Spanish. This is VERY common for Northern Europe/UK set, to "copy" the US editions, which bring those audios/subs. They just grab them and add the nordic subs (norway, sweden, denmark, etc). So looks to me the UK set is the same for Sweden, and all those countries, so yeah, not 100% confirmed, but between this and the info on Amazon UK and several other sites, I'd say it'll be this way. And spanish speakers that only watch movies on their original audio with subs, will be able to have star wars with DTS HD Master Audio in english, not like they are relasing it in Spain, with plain simple DTS ES, and leaving the DTS HD audio track for German (absurd!!!)

Still have my DVDs. Am now glad that I didn't sell them.

But George Lucas...

The new Krayt Dragon call from Obi-Wan makes me laugh until my chest hurts. I want the original back Lucas!
