It's the theatrical cuts I'm dying for. Still holding onto my DVD 6 disc box with those in it/

Even the "Theatrical" cuts are different to the actual ones shown in the cinema so I really don't care now

I have hope, you can call it 'An Old Hope' that we'll get a Blade Runner style set for Star Wars, with a rough cut, original theatrical release and special edition with new effects (with CGI fight between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader!).

Took a look at the notice.

They're only replacing faulty goods bought after 15th and within 14 days so you should be okay....just

The two trilogy steelbooks are available for pre-order at Zavvi now. £40 each. If it's as limited as Roger Rabbit, could be a rarity in time to come.

I rented a New Hope BD and it seemed quite dark compared to the laser disk bootleg I have. Is that something inherent to the Blu-Ray release?

Maybe the problem is with the 'laser disk bootleg'

i can't believe how appalling the artwork is for this, particularly the back cover. zavvi must think steelbook collectors are obsessed fools if they reckon they'll snap these up. ok, some steelbook collectors are obsessed fools but even so ....

I could live with the audio swaps etc in the changes leading up to 1997, but the stick out like a sore thumb CGI inserts from '97, '04 & '11 need to be sliced out.
Now that Lucas is out of the loop, I'm hoping something could be worked out.

Well we have a long wait to find out.

We have to wait until 2020 befre disney get the rights to the 1,2,3,5 and 6. Fox still own 4, so who knows what they will do with that.

I would settle for Fox to release the OT even if it was just from the DVD versions, it would be better than nothing.

I think we won't see anything new done to the OT until Disney get them, hopefully they can come to an agreement with Fox so we will still be able to get the trilogy.

I agree. I love the BD's but the box looks rubbish. It sticks out ahead of my other boxsets such as Alien and Superman. Hmmmm.

I can understand that logic though.

Not that that's what I'll do. I'll buy VII-IX individually and then re-buy everything in a big I-IX box set in 2020.

Hopefully these new steelbooks will drive down the price of the boxset so that people like me who don't have it can get it at a more reasonable price. I've never really been tempted to pay £50+ for it.

I think that the UK version was much better than the US option. I don't have any issues with it.
