Is it just me. I thought that the OT was the worst blu-ray transfer I have ever seen. The colours are still terrible, there are still blocks around a lot of the ships, vehicles. It justs looks like the DVD. I was expecting so much better from Lucasfilm but it seems that they just didn't bother their arses. A few new bits have been added which didn't need to be and the less said about Vader at the end of 'Jedi' with a stupid 'nnooooooo' the better. Episodes 1 and 2 where better even though they could of been a lot better. I was impressed with the new Yoda in Ep 1. Not watched Ep 3 yet but i'm hoping that they have changed the big mistake with Obi Wan holding the wrong lightsaber when being chocked by Anakin. Anyway, at the end of the day, a disaster of an effort putting the OT on Blu-ray and I'm so disgusted with them for doing such a poor job and seems that they where out just to make money..

![]() Though I take Albatross365s point about Darth bashing his head on the death star, guess he spent way too much time in the company of stormtroopers. I really like ROTS too, definitely in my top 3. Hmmm not sure of the 1-6 list though. |

I'm young (19) and even though I prefer the Original Trilogy I still realllyyy like the prequels (especially ROTS). Also I wached IV today and it doesn't bother me that they changed it so that
[Show spoiler] . Though it happened so fast I had to rewind and pause lol.

Interesting deleted scene from Episode III, an alternative take on the Duel in the Senate, where
[Show spoiler] I prefer this version and completely disagree with the novelization that "as the fight progressed Yoda grew weaker, while Sidious grew stronger". If Windu nearly aced him, I see no reason why Yoda couldn't, being Grand Master of the Order.

Where as in the final version it's made to look like Yoda was impailed on the pipe as his cloak is there but he is no where to be seen, hence why Palp never attempts to look for him in all the years that follow. |

![]() There are some great deleted scenes on the OT, some are laughable though, like the wampa attack on Echo base. ![]() |

Just came back from HMV they're selling a few bits and bobs of Star Wars merchandise. Including The Sounds of Star Wars which has a funky little soundbank on the right hand side, which reminded me of those Fisher Price things kids play with by spinning a wheel so it plays different animal sounds and a book on Vader: The Complete Vader. Both books were shrinkwrapped (which is quite nice for a book) and £15.

It's the best any of the films has ever looked though so I gues thats good enogh reason to own them. But to be fair. the prequals especially TPM and AOTC were filmed almost a decade befor Star Trek. So I'm not surprised you didn't find them as good. But thats just you opinion. I would say Sith is as good if not better than Star Trek. And this is coming from someone who has watched every single film and episode of Star Trek, so I'm not a Star Wars fanboy. |

Anyways, I wasn't around during the original theatrical release of the OT, so I guess I don't have a big enough connection to it like so many older fans. However, I must have gone to Blockbuster about a million times renting the OT VHS tapes back in the 90s. ![]() |

Caved in and got this today after getting 40 quid from trading in DVDs I'm set to convert to Blu-Ray at CEX...I thought "hmmm...another 20 quid and I could get it" So you know what, for 20 quid, yeah I got it. I was SO excited for this release, and it was almost half the reason I got a Blu Ray Player a few weeks ago, but when I saw the changes, particularly the "NOOOOOO!" I was adamant I wouldn't touch it. I guess the extras and PQ lured me in, after seeing how great Star Wars(I won't call it ANH) looks on the TVs in HMV for the past week.
Really looking forward to Disc 8 and the archival commentaries, especially the deleted scenes. I'm sure it won't be perfect, but I can't wait to get stuck into them! |

It must be certain players/recievers. I know that some people with the PS3 slim were having audio drop outs, I sugested they switch from Bitstream to LPCM and that fixed the problem. But it doesnt explain why there is a problem with bitstream ![]() The reasson I suggested they swich to LPCM was because I had no issues with my PS3 (launch model not a slim) and that can only handle HD audio via LPCM, where as the newer slims have upgraded chip sets to allow them to bitstream HD audio. |

Thats wrong, how can they give a overall score of 5 ?, to get that it would need a 5 in every catergory, overall should be like under 4.5, 17.5 divided by 4 = 4.375

No it's not wrong. Their final score isn't based on maths. It's bassed on there opinion of the set as a whole.
