Did anyone here pre-order it from Tesco Direct? I cashed in some Clubcard points when they were doing one of their Clubcard Boost promotions in early September and it was due for release on 12th October.

It's still showing as not dispatched but is due to be sent on 16th October (errr, Back To The Future time anomaly anyone?) and clicking on the item page shows that they don't reckon it's out until 2nd November... huh?!? If it wasn't for the fact that there are loads of copies for sale on eBay where people clearly have the item to hand then I might believe them but something screwy's going on here. Is it just my order or is anyone else in the same boat?

Do you know it's a sturdy box or just flimsy cardboard? I can't find any unboxing videos on Youtube....
Looks like the flimsy type to me from that pic.

It is proper plastic case with 9 discs in it.

I didn't like the old packaging for a long time but it has grown on me. I don't like the sound of 9 discs in one case as with the new packaging.

I ended up paying out £17 for it as I had gift voucher.

Is there any major difference between the old and new box sets? Are they the same thing with just different casing? If so I may get the new one as my shelves are full as it is.

Tesco go nuts on occasion, they've sold laptops for £30 with TVs and cameras about the same.
I've never seen a Tesco go nuts before.

American here. Just making absolutely sure before I pull the trigger on Amazon, are the discs region-free?

Default The Force Awakens

Pre-orders are up on Amazon and Zavvi for Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Zavvi have an exclusive steelbook. Amazon have a bonus disc listed but it doesn't say if it's an exclusive.

Steelbooks 2 discs and the Amazon is 2 discs so I wonder what difference there will be, if any?

I hope they do. The 3D added nothing.

Besides, conversion isn't it?

I always find it funny when people automatically assume that conversions are terrible 3D when some of the best 3D I've seen in films are conversions, and some of the worst are natively shot in 3D.

It's all opinion though I guess.

As long as they don't pull a Universal and remove the 2D disc from the 3D release I'll be happy. Although I'd be even happier with a UHDBD release

Hardly an assumption if I saw it at midnight though is it?
