Funny thing is I was the one saying 'order from Amazon.ca, ignore the estimated shipping you will have it in two days' and it seems pretty much everyone has, well except for me

Hopefully you'll get yours today or tomorrow, mate. I was shocked someone had theirs yesterday!

Thanks to those of you who suggested ordering the English cover Canadian version. Ordered Monday, shipped Tuesday, received at 11am this morning and watched at 3pm this afternoon!

It still hadn't shipped by Wednesday evening so I just cancelled it, was only importing to watch it early but if it wasn't going to be here for this weekend then the next chance I would have would be the weekend just before the UK release and an order with Zoom or Tesco would arrive for then but be £10 cheaper.

As they say no good deed goes unpunished, should have kept the importing from Amazon.ca idea to myself lol

On the plus side - If you own the original trilogy set, then the UK light side design will look much nicer on the shelf over the US release, with the blue spines together.

That's what I've gone for - and I am also on the hunt for the slipcover for the trilogy set!

I had a reply back about my damaged item, they said they wouldn't have any stock until mid-April, they offered a 30% discount, a full refund after I sent back the item, or I could wait for the re-stock. It looks like you've been extremely unlucky, mate.

I'm not sure whether it's worse asking about sending the item back for a refund? I'm not sure if the realized I'm an International customer, usually they offer refunds and replacements without having to send back the original damaged item, but I'm not sure if Amazon.ca are different from their US equivalent?

The last time I asked for a replacement they weren't able to get stock and after waiting for weeks and weeks, I cancelled and ordered elsewhere.

It isn't sadly. Although hopefully it will be there in the 3D version later in the year.

Could they not have included the IMAX version as a bonus feature on the disk?

Chip75, if you remember (way back) my copy of Man of Steel from Amazon.ca came with a damaged case/slipcase. They apologized and sent out a replacement (obviously, it was in stock, unlike TFA).

However, my replacement was issued at zero value to me, but 'full price' in terms of their exit inventory system... so that was $59.99!!! So, DHL slapped import/VAT on it and it was a real PITA to get it (as I had to prove it was a zero value replacement).

Eventually, after a lot of backwards and forwards with DHL, they released it (without charge) - but then, a few weeks later, sent me a bill anyway.

Amazon admitted their screw up (after a few mails making them understand what they had done to instigate the error) and they sent me the payment I had to make to DHL!

It ended up costing way more (for them) than the cost of the movie (which I bought very cheaply)...

So, moral of this is be very careful with any replacement items and how Amazon.ca & the DHL dispatch center vaule them. I eventually figured out that the $0 Amazon 'fee' then jumped to $59.99 when it hit the USA DHL distribution hub... so someone obviously keyed in a full retail value there (not the current Amazon price at the time - but the full RRP), probably because the item had a zero value.
