Hahaha, looks like so many people complained they just decided to refund everyone.

I never asked amazon for the refund difference and got an email with £6.99 refund.

Awesome. They refunded £6.99 when I complained and also did the automated £6.99 refund a few days later. Thanks Amazon!

That's a crazy sweet price of just £6.01 for The Force Awakens 3D on release day. I spend about a bajillion pounds a year (*estimated) with them so it's nice to get a little something extra now and then.

I got the refund email as well but I don't think I will get any refunds since my original purchase was fully refunded and returned to Amazon.
Would be hilarious if I got an extra refund making a negative order total

A week of telling customers they'd imagined a price drop for it to drop to £13 again ... well played, Amazon. Well played.

Saw one in a local shop here in Norway, roughly 16 quid. Went for that instead, at least I got to get a mint copy (a lot of the lenticulars had scratches on them, found a pristine copy, though the "Collector's Edition" is slightly off level, which my fiancee annoyingly pointed out (when will the OCD end?!)) and avoided all this hassle. Very odd they keep dropping and upping the price?

I ordered the 3D Star Wars a day or two after release from Amazon at £19.99. Totally unexpected they emailed me Monday to say I was getting a £6.99 price promise refund - and I didn't even preorder.
Well done Amazon

I got the only one left at my local Tesco. Lenticular was scratched a lot and the spider tag dented it in four places, but what can you do

I work there so it's convenient and I get 10% staff discount, so meh. Just annoying they think its acceptable to damage the products like that rather than buying suitable security boxes for them

Amazon are a funny bunch. They give me the Star Wars refund yet I just spotted that the complete Downton Abbey I preordered that was released just 2 weeks ago at £59.99 has dropped to £50 yet when I asked for a refund of the difference they told me I needed to return the old one and buy it again.
Not much common sense at Amazon

Their price promise is only for preorders up to the release date's lowest price for the item. After that, they don't have to refund any price drops.

They used to be fairly lenient and allow you a refund if it drops between the release date and the time you receive it... but I was recently told "we are not allowed to make that exception any more.
When I asked if policies had changed and when, the guy avoided the question.
Looks like there's been a few shakeups over at Amazon CS.
