Quite the opposite, they put the price up to £60. It was £57.37.
Was that with the super saver delivery? or first class? Last edited by tigertron; 09-12-2011 at 10:02 AM. |

Picked up my copy from HMV today and finally found a use for some of my Pure HMV points, got £20 off and the HMV Exclusive free Tshirt. I know it was a bit cheaper to pre order but using the points and the freebie swung it for me.
Looking forward now to the extras. Nick ![]() |

![]() ![]() [This post only refers to Stars Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of The Jedi -I'm ignoring all the others film because they are CGI childish crap. Empty films. I'm ignoring them just like George ignores the original fans] Phew, it's easier to collect movies than it is to watch 'em ![]() Since I have no Blu-ray special features (£30 for 3 films with no extras is overpriced!) over the last 2½ days I've watched the Blu-ray trilogy and went back and watched all the VHS, Laserdisc and SE DVD extras. The extras from the Executor (or the 9 disc Definitive Edition Laserdiscs) set are a must-see because they were conceived when there was none of this silly IV, V & VI and "prequel" smoke and mirrors. They are a bit old-fashioned I suppose but I don't mind that. ![]() Anyway, the making ofs: From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga (65mins), The Making of Star Wars: As Told By C-P30 & R2D2 (48mins) (+30mins interviews), Special Effects: The Empire Strikes Back (48mins) (+ 38mins video interviews), Classic Creatures: Return of The Jedi (48mins) (+ 20mins video interviews) -none of these on the SE DVDs. Mostly these are fab and look to be taken off US TV for the most part and offer some great insight into the films and filmmaking process. Lots of little gems: As for the SE DVDs the 2½ hour The Empire of Dreams is quite good (but it's full of people talking about the non-CGI versions and showing clips from the non-CGI versions) and uses some of the footage from the sources I mentioned above. There's also a load of extended interviews, trailers etc etc. Back to my my 3-disc Blu-rays, well, they ain't got much. A few commentaries and that's it. So, who's watched the special features on discs 7, 8 and 9? What's there? I don't mean a list I'm after a comparison to the SEs DVDs etc. Hopefully we'll have some 'professional' reviews soon which will not be an easy task! Overall, I'm very happy with the 3 disc set but it's a crying shame we have no new special features without buying that garbage 'saga' set. |

Hmm...now let me see.
WinDVD site says visit the UK store and spend £80 on software. No chance. Just bought it on offer for £30 from the US store - suckers. I haz Star Wars....so far so good. Looking great. Blurb on the cardboard thing says it only has English subs but it has loads of languages both spoken and subtitled. Shame my Blu-ray drive shipped with ancient software. |
