I've just realised that if I want the special feature I am going to have to shell out on the full saga. I wouldn't mind but I can imagine the sup material being pretty special plus I've got rid of my DVD set a while back when this was originally announced.

Drat you Lucas looks like you will get me buying your shitty prequels.

I just thought, what if Amazon & Co send out Early Bird Certificate packages with a nice cardboard cutout of the blu-ray discs and promises to redeem them in the not to distant future....

Now that would be awesome....

It's most likely an upscale from a standard def PAL master. I have almost no doubt that the Blus will look awesome.

ITV HD rarely shows films in the OAR and never in 5.1

Why do they even bother showing films lol

The BBC aren't much better, because they were showing The Incredibles in 16:9, but at least Wall-E was in its proper aspect ratio.

They did it last Chritsmas in 2009/10, where it was 1.85:1 instead of the original 2.40:1.

Was on Amazon.co.uk and on the front page it said "pre-order Star Wars Blu-ray exclusively at Amazon"

Checked out their listing and its no different to the ones on HMV and Play (as in no exclusive content) and same price. So was just a little confused

Attached a pic of the home page.

I asked this yesterday before HMV and Play listed thier pre-orders, so I thought only Amazon would have them up for pre-order, but clearly not.

£70 is a pretty good price for the whole set if you ask me, I was expecting it to be more. The Star Wars movies are the only movies that I desperatly want in my collection, so roll on September.

Guess in the last year they have pulled themselves together, looking forward to Temple of Doom and Last Crusade in the coming weeks on BBC1 HD.

III is really good, you should give it a go. Shame about the first two.

The UK isn't getting a choose your own trilogy release like the US is?

70 pounds for 6 films and lots of extras seems very good to me. I've pre-ordered at HMV. Looking forward to this.

I've been listening to the 30th Anniversary Collection on we7 and for some reason I've been getting a Clash of the Titans '78, Batman Returns vibe. Which can mean only one thing.... I'm crazier than I was the day before.

One thing nobody's mentioned; will we the UK blu-ray buyers be getting the uncut version of Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones? If not a few guys will be going for the US set.

Like a few guys mentioned I also watched The Phantom Menace yesterday (not on ITVHD alas) and can imagine it will look a lot grainier than Episodes II and III. I wonder if there will be an attempt at uniformity for the prequels?

We'll be up in arms at that as well "they've ruined TPM with DNR!"
