I know it's not my post you quoted, but just thought I'd chip in! I am watching them in story order, so started last night with episode 1 / TPM. It just gets better now with every film, climaxing with the classics - eps 4 & 5, ANH/ESB - before dropping in quality (a little) with Ep 6 / ROTJ.

same here I-VI

Im at VI now, watching them all in order you really notice the dramatic change in colour schemes between the PT and the OT. Everything was so bright and vivid in the PT colour scheme, whilst the OT's are a lot bleaker and dim over all, giving the sensation of just how bad times are in that period of the Saga.

I'm gonna watch themin the order of IV-VI then I-III, i feel the III is just a whole lot more dramtic if you you see what happens after it before, all in all it's quite a tragic tale when you think of it so i like for it to end on a sombre note with a ray of hope

I think if you're watching them for the first time you have to watch the Original Trilogy first. Watching the prequels first would rob you of one of the greatest reveals in cinema history!

Having said that, I'm also watching them Episode I to Episode VI for the first blu-ray viewings.

Someone asked the other day if they had fixed the scene at the begining of Empire where Luke escapes the cave and you hear the sound effect of the lightsabre shutting down, but on screen the lightsabre remains on.

That scene is still the same, so no fix for that.

Whilst i agree with this, the reworking done for the DVD release has a scene in 'Empire' in which the Empire and Vader discuss that Luke is his son....and to think people kicked up a fuss over Vader shouting 'Noooooo'

I watched TPM last night and I'm working up that way too, but while I agree newcomers should watch it from the OT first, I think the reveal isn't really worth it in the argument - I can't think of many people outside the Amazon rainforest who aren't aware of it already.

It was never said to be on the discs but considering it was made with star wars in mind for the teasers I guess we thought it would have been at the start of the discs like other Blu-ray logos.

what order do you watch them in i prefer the order they were released. a couple of years ago i watched them after many years with a family member thats never seen them before we watched the prequel trilogy first then the original it spoils the movies especially story wise.

I'm watching them in Episode order since I know the

Probably the wrong thing to do if you want to watch in order of PQ......ROTS is a sight to behold.

I suppose it depends on how you view the story....is it two trilogies about Luke and his roots or a 6 part biography of Anakin.

About to head into ANH territory. Looks good from the cursory disc check I did after purchase.

Just finished watching ANH, God does it look fantastic. This really does get a 5! and I never I thought I'd give ANH a high score like that but it looks fantastic. The amount of detail is incredible. Seriously, anyone who is refusing to buy the SW set because of a lame CG rock and a stupid nooooooo are fools. I urge anyone who likes/loves Star Wars to buy it...immediately!

Too true, I mean I'm not happy with some of the changes George Lucas has made in the past i.e. that noooo, Jedi rocks, etc, but even so this is Star Wars...in HD! and the result is fantastic.

for me its always been the story of luke and his roots, i think i prefer the story original trilogy but love the look of the prequel trilogy not saying the story is bad is still a very good story but the original had everything

. and I'm going to watch I-VI. Watched I earlier today, looked/sounded fantastic and because I hadn't seen it in so long it felt new to me .

Either going to pace them (one a night) so it lasts until next Tuesday or I'll finish them over the weekend .

Default Faulty Star Wars set :(

Nooooooo!

Episode II
Chapter 26 - Jango vs Obi Wan
The movie freezes
Pixelates
and then..dies.

Had to skip 2 chapters to get the movie going again.
