Damn.

Very disappointed in the LE set. The Golden Army "statue," while nice, is just plastic. I don't mind that though. The thing that pissed me off is the included "mini poster" with the set. It's folded and stapled inside the journal. If you had any interest in the poster, you'll only be able to get it with creases and two staple holes right in the middle. Ugh.

Should have just bought the normal version.

Hey,

Just ordered this for $20.14 from DeepDisountDVD using the "save" code for 25% off.

It's out of stock but that's a plus for me because ... I bought 2 Blu Rays this week already and didn't want to buy it right away so... whenever the longer it takes them to re-stock it the better in some ways for me.

I got Best Buy to price match walmart.com 25.32 I believe it was for this movie and they also price matched Baraka for me at 21.18 from the same source. Ended up watching Hellboy 2 last night very enjoyable movie good story and the action was very awesome to watch on my new plasma! I recommend it~

Hmmm,... that is sad. If you want the poster you will have to be super careful not to damage it more then it already is damaged by the staples.

I recenly bought a David Gilmour live deluxe set mainly for the extra CD worth of music and it came with a fully worthless poster (image was soft and undetailed.) I don't think posters should be on the list of stuff to cram into such small packaging.

Dam. I don't understand why Amazon hasn't ship mine yet. It was supposed to ship out on mon/tues like most new release usually does.

You guys aren't having this problem with the delay shipping??

I was waiting out for this set, but I truly wasn't digging the Army "statue" so I skipped it. But how was the journal?

I'd like to add that I'm not digging that Universal cheaped out and gave us the bonus materials on a DVD. what the hell.

If they could have fit the bonus material on the BD without sacrificing any of the PQ/AQ then I agree they should have put it on the BD along with the main feature. If that's not the case then Uni did exactly right. Since the bonus material is in SD anyway, they used the extra space on the DVD where the digital copy is located. Because of the digital copy, there had to be a DVD included anyway. I'd rather have the bonus features on the DVD than have them detract from the HD quality.

Default Hellboy II: The Golden Army

I picked up a copy of Hellboy II: The Golden Army and loaded it on Samsung BD-P1500. After the Blu-ray disc had loaded and the movie started to play I noticed the BONUSVIEW Icon on the top left of the screen. I went into the user manual for the SamSung BD-P1500 and could not get the Icon of my screen even aftet installing the latest Firmware update. I have recently called Samsung and they have yet to hear of the issue and are looking into it now. I also called Future Shop where I picked up the disc and they have the same problem BUT only on the Samsung Blu-ray players. I was told to return the Hellboy II: The Golden Army disc and wait for the new fix from the Hellboy II: The Golden Army's distributor.

Isn't that something in the way Universal does the bonus features? I think that you can get rid of it by pressing something particular on your remote. Somebody here can shed more light I'm sure. I'm at work right now so can't check it out directly. Try the colored buttons though, Universal makes use of those.

the special features were lengthy but ... basically Disc two is right out of the 3-Disc DVD.

I just dont like it. Learn from Disney, we get Wall-e & Narnia on 3-Disc Blu-ray editions. The third disc being the DVD DIGITAL COPY.

I had the same problem with The Incredible Hulk. Go to "menu", then "setup", go to "display setup" next and finally turn "off" the "screen message". I have the same player so that should work.

The poster is folded in fourths and then stapled in the middle of the journal. The backside of it contains more art that looks like it belongs in the journal, but I can't tell because I don't want to rip anything out. The journal is poor too. All the pages are really glossy, and the cover feels cheap. I was expecting a more "paper" or "journal" feel, like the Diary of Rasputin from the original Hellboy LE DVD. Instead I get this cheap super glossy diary that seemed to be more of an advertisement for some "Art of Hellboy" book they have on sale.

Overall, I can't recommend against the LE set enough. I'm very disappointed.

**Love the movie though. Watched it last night, excellent PQ and AQ. Highly enjoyable film, just skip the LE set.

Watched this last night - good movie, entertaining, but I have to agree with some other posters and say the first one was a lot better. And trust me, I wanted this movie to be great! I almost blind-bought it, but rented it instead. Won't buy it, but if someone gives it to me as a gift, I won't mind Great special effects and creatures, except the Johann Krauss character looked like a stupid character from a bad 50's sci-fi movie.

AQ was amazing! PQ was great overall, but I thought there were a couple parts during close-ups of Hellboy's makeup, both the young and grown up Hellboy, that looked kind of weird. Did anyone else notice that? First, during the scene in the beginning with the young Hellboy, his face just looked weird, it was all blocky and kind of digitized? And the last scene at the very end, just before it fades to black and the credits roll, look at Hellboy's face. Does it look weird? I almost thought it was something with the settings on my TV but the rest of the movie looked great.

I read that all the actors wanted the make up done really fast. In the first movie they really took their time. Shame =/.

Because of your setup I'm betting. You need to be able to play HD audio via HDMI or analog out.
