^ -> native 8K HDR HFR(120/100 fps) content delivery is a small challenge for 5G, given what it’s capable of delivering, a shorter clip compared to the IBC video linked above – https://www.marketwatch.com/video/se...5A9773E26.html |

(as an aside, some here may remember that Tony Scott (Director for Top Gun) had a filming location connection with the San Pedro bridge in the movie Unstoppable, as well as a later sad personal connection). |

As I obviously had no idea ^, I was emailed this tidbit today – “Mike Sowa and other digital imaging specialists used HDR to maintain sharpness of contrast in the transfer from film (The Other Side of the Wind) to digital.” P.S. Since the time of that hyperlinked YouTube video ^ and actually very recently, Mike has since moved from Technicolor to Fotokem. Last edited by Penton-Man; 11-06-2018 at 12:40 AM. ![]() Anyway, no matter as to the dang pole, as the scene, as seen, was shot ultimately from the opposite angle (looking up towards the street) and the marked up backside of the pole was used to mount any wiring that was temporarily needed for the shot, like so – ![]() |

Although I’m a bit more pragmatic, for example with day-to-day living - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...g#post15713324
and also in what the future for society holds with CRISPR - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...r#post15025077 , this past Monday, during a conference at the Hotel del Coronado, a presentation by Poppy, the Chief Scientist at Dolby Laboratories (and Chairman/Co-Chairman of two different ITU groups) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF1CbWSoGaw#t=1h55m54s (Poppy gets into the meat of the presentation at about the 2hr. timestamp at which she forwards the notion of how she believes advanced consumer technology will change our relationship with each other and our bodies). P.S. I’ll tell you something Poppy, you missed some good relationship interactions (with the aid of C₂H₅OH) at the hard deck movie set of Top Gun: Maverick just recently down the beach from where you spoke at the Del - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...k#post15650436 <- pics of which, from the naval base side, the paparazzi never were able to snap, but exclusively posted here ![]() Last edited by Penton-Man; 11-07-2018 at 04:25 PM. I think Jen and Tom make a fine looking
![]() Flash forward to today given the current fighter pilot shortage - https://www.militarytimes.com/news/y...lets-is-empty/, not to mention a similar problem confronting the commercial airline pilot business - https://www.marketwatch.com/story/th...rse-2018-07-13 , Top Gun: Maverick may hold even more significance in terms of inspirational need. And, given Tom’s authentic passion for aviation (he owns and flies a P-51 Mustang, himself) https://etcanada.com/video/684389443...talks-top-gun/ , I can’t think of better actor for the role. |

![]() The only signature I’ve ever made an effort to procure is that of Pele ![]() ![]() Anyway, as far as the pole, if one has the time and foresight, I’ve found that visual documentation, in reference to no matter what be the point, tends to be more irrefutable in terms of credibility than recollection or opinion-ating. P.S. Plus, I think telling stories about telephone poles is safer than telling stories about spears… Last edited by Penton-Man; 11-08-2018 at 12:21 AM. Reason: added a P.S. |
