I've never been remotely mechanically inclined with vehicles so that's definitely not in the cards for me.

As far as going to the dealer, I have a fairly niche vehicle (2014 FJ Cruiser in its final model year), so I don't need some slapdick futzing around with something they're unfamiliar with. Granted, I'm sure the issue I had wasn't remotely exclusive to my particular vehicle, but there's a level of comfort with the dealer knowing that they work on FJs all the time that brings me some piece of mind even if it lightens my wallet a bit. Not to mention, the thought of seeking out a quality repair person, getting the truck in, the timing of it all, etc. gives me anxiety, haha. That being said, the truck was in and out in a matter of like 5 hours so there's a lot to be said for that.

Working some mandatory overtime til 1400 or so today. Trying to figure out how I can make it up to my daughter tonight, she was pretty torn up last night when i told her I had to work today and that Grandma was babysitting.

On the plus side The Wife is coming home tonight. I have to double check her itinerary but i believe her plane is scheduled to touch down at about 11pm. She text me last night to tell me she had big news to tell me so I'm anxious to find out

I had a lil spat with our newest co-worker last night. He didn't like a brief critique and exploded. I usually react badly to things like that, but for some odd reason, I didn't and I'm unsure why.
I'm just hoping that he reflects on it and starts using the advice I gave. If I have to do it again, I'll probably be my usual self and that won't be pleasant.

She likes romantic comedies which is perfect because I really like them too but unfortunately there aren't any playing right now. Looks like we're going to just show up at the mall where the theater is and wing it. That's actually how I ended up seeing Serendipity for the first time. I was home on leave back in October of '01 shortly after 9/11 and I met this girl. We went to the theater and Serendipity was the only movie that hadn't started but was about to and I absolutely fell in love with the movie. I might have even seen it again on base in Japan but I can't remember.

Notting Hill and Love Actually are two more of my favorites

Finally home from OT and some grocery shopping, kid's giving me the cold shoulder so I think I'll finish some chores around here then sit out on the deck and have a beer or three. One of these days she'll come to realize I'm only busting my a$$ working these crazy hours just so she won't have to when she gets older. Then again, she may take after her old man and become a workaholic herself, nothing wrong with that in my humble opinion.

She spent the day out running errands with him and I had to open the store with the assistant manager, but he was unaware. So...yeah, that’s pretty much how my day went at work. Kid's playing her game on the PS4 so I'm still out on the deck relaxing and drinking while listening to some Country songs a buddy of mine gave me, oddly enough they all seem to be about drinking.. I'm hoping even after being up since 2am I can stay awake late enough to see the Wife get home Her plane is touching down at 11, and I assume it'll be around midnight before she gathers her luggage and gets to the truck which is parked in the long term parking garage at the airport, then another hour drive home. Yeah, I may need a nap, ugh if only I was younger.
