Those look pretty darn good! White filling vs yellow. I still like mine for the chocolate on top.

I received the Neil Young Archives Vol. III 17CD/5BD box set today and I am working my way through it. Just started CD 3 and so far it is excellent and worth the near $500 price tag.

Methinks those tires wouldn't pass the inspection.

About to watch a movie. Not sure what I'll actually go with. I've already got Mary Poppins in the PS4 but maybe I'll switch it out for something with some action. I've got a limited collection here in SJ and while I have several foreign and Criterion films that I have never seen, most of my "normal" movies are ones that I've watched in the last couple years. I feel kind of like it's a waste of time to rewatch a movie when I have ones that have yet to be watched for a first time.

Anyway, so I've got my potato chips and what's left of my Lays french onion dip ready to go along with a soda that I had forgotten about. Got it yesterday at Costco and took it home and I'm glad I did because that's the only soda I've got. So, Mary Poppins or something with action? Hmmmmm

Still listening to 10,000 Maniacs' recent reissue of MTV Unplugged. It has two of the best covers ever done (Because The Night & Jolene). In the top 3 covers of all time.

I thought you already had your car inspected last month? What is wrong with your car that you need a monthly inspection? I can only imagine with those tires. It looks like they've been rode VERY hard and put up VERY wet.

I saw that box set last Sunday at my local record shop. I can't justify the $500 price tag for it. I like Neil Young well enough, but I'm not big enough of a fan to spend THAT much money on him. It looks really nice though and the packaging is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. You could fit it inside a book bag. I like that. A lot of box sets nowadays you can't even carry with you. The Sire ones are the worst. The packaging is SO big you can't put it in a book bag comfortably without a lot of trouble getting it out. The only other way to carry the CDs is in a CD carrying case, which I refuse to do. I always hated those things. The only other viable option is to buy the HD download from Qobuz or other sites and add it to a DAP. What's the point of even buying the physical product at that point or even releasing it physically? It's why I haven't snagged the box set for The Replacements' Tim yet. If it gets dirt cheap, I'll buy it. But that's the only way.

Methinks those tires wouldn't pass an unpaved road or non-existent road at all. He wouldn't make it a mile in Iowa or Nebraska in those things.

I just took a sample Class C (regular auto) test online. I'm thinking about just going in to the DMV tomorrow to apply for the motorcycle (M1) license. I'll need to take the written motorcycle test as well as the written auto test since it's been over a year since I've taken that test. I got 9 out of the 10 practice questions right but the one that I missed is making me reconsider taking it tomorrow without studying more.

When a railroad crossing is not controlled, what is the speed limit when you are within 100 feet and cannot see for 400 feet in both directions?

15 mph.
10 mph.
25 mph.

4.7 earthquake in Malibu. Definitely felt that one, short but packed a thump.

The Shake Alert app didn't give much warning time for this one, according to the news.

Also according to the news, this was a strike-slip earthquake which causes quite a bit of lateral movement.

What? it's only been a year since you've taken the written auto test? I haven't taken the written auto test in 28 years. I took it when I was getting my driver's license. That was in 1996. I haven't taken it since. We don't have to take it anymore. We just renew our license and pay the fee. We don't have to take any tests. Would it be better if we had to take a test every time we renewed our license? I suppose, but it wouldn't do any good really. The people in this town know the basic rules of the road and still flagrantly violate them every chance they get. I can't tell you how many times I've seen motorists speeding through a red light knowing full well it was red (had been red a few seconds when they ran it). I once saw a driver get into a lane that was for oncoming traffic just so they could avoid the traffic they would have to sit in. Luckily, no one was coming. I also saw another driver reading a book while driving. Not an ebook or anything either. An actual paperback book. This town has the worst drivers I've ever seen. I've been hit twice walking a crosswalk.
