As fighthefutureofhd pointed out, they are very relaxing and you can do as much or little as you want on board. Everyone cruises their own way. Some people really love Bingo and trivia games or getting photos taken with Disney characters. Others just love a good book lounging on deck 4. The free 24/7 room service is hard to pass up. You’ll probably enjoy the different ports of call as it gets you off the ship. I enjoy the verandah, food access, views of the ocean, their private island and the Rainforest Room. The newer ships (Wish & Treasure) drastically cut back on the adults only areas so I’ll be avoiding those for as long as I can. Either way, you’ll still be on vacation. I would not call it torture…you just have to make the best of it and find what aligns with your interests. With all the adults you should definitely look into rainforest room passes and the adult-exclusive dining. |

The pricing isn't really THAT inflated. You can get some really good deals there. and the pricing on most things is about average with everyone else (clothes and food, for example).Do they specialize in commercialism? I would agree with you there on Disney World for sure. However, I would argue that Disneyland is not SOLEY about commercialism. It still retains all the magic that Walt wanted that place to be and ACTUALLY is magical. To the larger point of commercialism, just about anything we partake in involves commercialism. It's how the world works these days. Nothing is free. But in some of those things we do, there is an inherent, wonderful joy that can't be erased. Like Disneyland. Or a record store even. Record stores are designed to sell products, by media conglomerates in some cases, and make money. A true business of commercialism, if you will. But underneath all that is something so wonderful and pure. A connection to an amazing community, a centering Nirvana, and God's own heaven here on earth. There is that cynics' view but I prefer not to see things that way.

Happy New Year's Eve, everybody! I'm dreading this trip to the grocery store today, but I need to pick up a few things for dinner tonight and tomorrow. Might as well pick up a bottle of booze to wash away the ugliness of 2024. I'm getting too old to go out on New Years, so I'll probably just bake a pizza and watch some movies. My introverted self never really enjoyed going out anyway.

I would normally be off tonight but I'm working SDO overtime so yaaaay. And when I say yaaaay I mean that like the yaaaay you would holler out right after getting kicked in the balls.
I'd get myself some Martinelli's sparkling cider but since I have to work, I won't bother. Right now I'm at Barnes & Noble. I got myself a copy of The Rake with Keaton on the cover and a copy of Equire with Denzel on the cover. I won't buy either magazine but I plan on reading their articles. This store is closing on January 19th after 26 years so I will plan on buying a couple magazines today. I've been coming here for 13 of those 26 years I think. I was supposed to have my online class at 2pm today but the Dr. is not feeling well so no class until next week. |

You’ve misunderstood what a Disney Cruise is; it’s a days-long trip aboard a Disney-themed cruise ship. It doesn’t involve the Disney parks at all. Just a ride on the high seas with a couple thousand kindergarteners and their families. Nothing relaxing about that for me, mates. I would prefer to stay home and maintain the house.

Sorted out a bunch of cool stuff this afternoon. We now only do one collectibles show per year; we are now exclusively appearing at the Monroe Comic Con, once per year. September will be here before you know it, and I want to be prepared. Plus, my collections all need a good “go-through” right now. Keeps my mind occupied and helps me keep my priorities in line. Let “The Great Shedding of 2025” begin.
