About to call a cab and get this damned procedure over and done with. They won't let me drive as I'll be pumped with Valium! LOL!

Wow, what a great day...I get to have a rectal exam and lose $40 in cabfare! GGGRR

Valium? Before or after the procedure? I've had 2 so far, and I was given general anesthetic both times. Can't remember if I was given any pain meds to take home, but I don't think I needed any. Luckily my wife drove me home or I probably would have had to call a cab, too.

They told me Valium, but intravenously and before the procedure. First time years ago was a pill. It's done and I'm home.....easy-peasy. However, they removed 3 polyps, but couldn't remove 2 others as they were too large. They have to be removed surgically, so this aint over yet. I should hear back next week from both my doctor and the Hospital.

Ugh. About 4 years ago I had about 10" of colon removed. Not too big of a deal until I developed an abscess a day later. It took another day for the incompetent nurse to realize I wasn't "faking" the excruciating pain and contact the surgeon who immediately rushed me back into surgery after the MRI. I was quite lucky, as the abscess was in the entry incision, not the colon, otherwise I'd have been "bagged" for two months.

The great thing about all of that was I was in the hospital for almost two weeks and lost 35+ pounds! I was down to my college freshman weight...at least until I got my appetite back.

Good luck with the ongoing procedure. Mine was the exception to the rule, as the procedure is pretty simple and even done laproscopically.

Thanks, and same with you. Sounds like you're a bit on the outside of the bad area of the storm if you've got people flocking your way. We are going to get a direct hit, but I've spent a lot of time prepping the past few days.

I may even try to sneak down to the beach and get some video at some point.

Yeah we'll just be catching the western fringe of it. Expecting about 1-2 inches of rain and 20-30 MPH winds, nothing compared to what you are going to see.

Just got home from work, so I'm having a beer and checking out the site. Will watch a replay of the Man Utd-Arsenal game at 3:30....heard it was a blow-out!
