Unfortunately, that's been me with a lot of movies lately.

Damn! I'll have to look that up.

Watching my account trickle down to $0 as I'm paying bills.

I'm trying to decide whether or not I go back to school to get a BA in Nursing. I still want to be a therapist but if I get a BA in nursing instead of Psych, at least I will be more marketable if therapy doesn't work out. I am worried about having enough time to do everything though - working and marathon training already take up so much of my time, not sure I can fit online classes into that as well. Not to mention there's no guarantee I am smart enough to pass all the nursing classes.

Probably faulty construction is at fault, hopefully nobody was hurt.

Why not be a physical trainer? or Occupational therapy?

Could be things to look into, I think I'd be better off trying to be a running trainer though, would also require a 4 year degree from what I hear. Also need a lot more experience than the little bit I have so far from running.

the one that happened here was due to a tanker truck accident. whatever chemicals he was carrying leaked out and caught fire. and the fire was hot enough to actually melt the supports in the concrete and cause the collapse.

thankfully i don't have to go to that part of town or on that part of that particular interstate often, so it didn't affect me. but the amount of people that do during rush hour? i can only imagine the headaches it caused.

and then that one in atlanta is worse. i-85 is a major interstate there that is always FULL of cars during rush hour. i'm glad i don't live there and have to deal with that nightmare.

Yeah I really hope nobody was hurt but with that much traffic they probably were. Wonder how long it will take them to rebuild.

Incorrect. It was a car fire that ignited PVC piping that was being stored underneath the overpass. It got so hot that it weakened the overpass and it collapsed.

Yikes, that's horrible, hopefully the car fire wasn't intentional.

That's the part they're unsure of. Folks driving by said they could feel the heat the blaze was throwing inside their own cars.

What happened with your tire?

And the crazy Italian was no match for the humble fisherman from Majorca

gonna have to have it replaced. i took it to the shop this morning to have my guy look at it and he said it'll need to be replaced due to the size of the hole. the steel belts had been cut, but i was hoping it wasn't that bad. but after looking at it closer, i can see where they're poking out of the hole.

i tried to plug it myself, but the hole was too big for the plug. that's when i was thinking about a patch (from the inside). but seeing at how bad it really is.....new tire.

Sorry to hear that. Do you have a pic of your truck? I was curious as to what it looks like after I saw your pic. I got the impression that the tires are quite large and well with you being a redneck from the South... You probably saw that one coming lol
Wonder how much one of those tires costs. Well at least you only need one and don't have to replace all of them!

Pondering the installation of my attic ladder

Last night I went out into the garage and measured the opening I have in the ceiling. It's huge. 27" x 65". Most attic ladders, at max, only go up to 54".

So, I have made a theory - and it sounds quite possible in my mind. But the tricky part is executing it.

So I'll buy the 25" x 54" ladder. I'll put up a new board going across the current opening, so that the ladder can fit. That'll leave a sizable hole in the ceiling though. So I will then just put up a few more boards for support, and then nail drywall up underneath it and then put a board over the hole in the attic. Then I'll just put up new trimming around the latter access.

thanks.

the tires aren't that big; just 18" (stock). i thought about getting the (stock) 20" on it, but for the price, i decided against it. and yes, it's only 2wd, not a 4x4. sometimes i wish i'd gotten the 4x4, but it's water under the bridge now. maybe the next time i buy a truck....

and yes, thankfully i only have to buy one tire. the last time i bought tires (january of last year) they were over $1k. but that included the tires, mounting, balancing, and lifetime rotation and balancing. i think when i guy the new tire i'll have them rotate them.

the bad (but also good) thing is they all have air pressure sensors in them. so when you get a flat, the air pressure sensor goes off and you get a warning light on the dash. and the only way to get rid of it is a somewhat complicated process that involves letting a small amount of air out of each tire, starting with a certain tire and going in a clockwise pattern. kind of a pain, but the last time i had a flat, before i got new tires, the shop that fixed that tire did it for me. but it's not an audible warning, just a light on the dash. thankfully i have a full-size spare so i can drive normally; since i can't get it replaced until monday.

this is what it looks like (well, sorta). this is the week i bought it back in 2011. it now has a bug guard on the front, but otherwise this is how it looks
