Going through receipts and just busted a restaurant overcharging me $10 from the day after Thanksgiving. Precisely the reason why I save and review receipts until they hit my account, especially restaurants. Grr...

Never been overcharged by a restaurant before, time to go burn the place down and piss on the ashes!

It's happened to me here and there but I review my receipts every day, so I'm certain I've caught the few instances it's happened.

wal-mart has been known to do that, too.

and on the other side of that, i worked in a restaurant one time and had a guy argue about how many beers he had. he said he only had 3, but there were 5 bottles on the table. we told him he drank 5, but he he said it was only 3. when we pointed out all the bottles, he said, "those aren't mine." it escalated a bit and he threatened to call the police. we told him go ahead since there were 5 bottles on the table. he kept refusing to pay for the other 2. NO idea why he was denying drinking 5 instead of 3, but he got belligerent pretty quickly and was about ready to fight somebody. it was almost comical the way he was acting over 2 beers. and i'm not comparing that situation to yours, RageATL, it just reminded me of that time.

Oh not at all, no worries! Being a restaurant industry veteran myself, I know that it happens and I know what to look for. This was a $41.82 tab and I left $8 tip for a total of $49.82. What went through my bank was $59.82 which tells me someone added a "1" in front of the "8" in the tip and changed the total.

yeah, that shit right there don't fly. that's just straight up stealing. otherwise known as credit card fraud.

also, and this is getting a bit out there, that's why i always sign with my own pen. i NEVER use their pen. so if it comes to it and i need to prove something in court, i can prove that everything i'm claiming i wrote, i did write. and i can prove that by showing that it was written with a different pen than what is claimed was added later. like i said, it's out there, but it's one of the reasons i always use my own pen to fill out and sign a credit card transaction slip. and restaurants are notorious for doing that. well, the servers, not the actual restaurant. some people just feel slighted when they don't get the tip they think they deserve and think they're being funny or cute by adding in more money to the tip line.

Yep, agreed. It's not like the dude slid me 2 extra beers or anything (a call back to my "Tip" thread ), he (or someone) straight up added $10 to the check and that's theft.

Wal-Mart's gotten me before too but that was more due to clerk error. Taking the first break of the day and already wish this shift was over due to how much a co-worker is whining.

i've read a few stories where they were over-charging at the register and not too many people caught it. like something would be priced at $9.98, but it would ring up something like $10.48 (as an example). and lots of people who bought a few things together might not notice the differences on a larger total than if they had purchased them separately.

The only ones I've caught are the rare time they swipe something I bought more than once but it's never been enough for me to go back and complain. That's coming from someone who thinks the $200ish they spend at the grocery store a month is a bit much. Keep looking for more ways to decrease it, will be less of an issue once I get into a better paying field.

FB is not the devil as a recent post shows us. I'm surfing just a bit while I wait to go to an appointment at 11am. After that I'll head to Target at the mall and pick up an order for a member here. Target.com doesn't ship to his town in Alaska so he asked for help and I'm always happy to. I placed an order for three of the things he wanted yesterday to take advantage of the CM deal and he doesn't even know yet. I'm going to surprise him today after I pick up the second of three items. One item couldn't be fulfilled at a local store so I had to have it shipped. He doesn't know that I ordered them yet but he will pay me back once he gets paid

After that, I'll try and hit the post office to mail out a PS4 game for a member in SoCal. They found that a local Target here had it so asked me to grab it for them.

trying to stay awake.

I work a full-time job where I've been putting in 10 hours of OT each week for about 4 months now.

I also have a small taxidermy business on the side......it pays for things like new water heaters, furnaces, air conditions, and roofs for the house. it's side money for the family.

well sunday the local rifle season for deer ended. so last night was pretty busy w/business getting dropped off.

was up till 11 getting skins in the freezer. back up @ 3:30 so I could get a couple things taken care of and grab an amp (energy drink) before getting to work @ 5.

I just checked the status of my 3 orders from GameFly and they all have shipped.

Knowing GameFly, they should be arriving this Saturday.

Just submitted an apartment rental application, now I'm listening to my better half express her concerns that we may not accepted, and whether this place is fitting for us. Personally, I couldn't find a better place - $800/mo for a 3 bedroom is hard to come by, in a small town with a excellent school district no less. Sure it's going to mean an additional 10 mile commute for both of us (upping mine to ~20 miles, hers to ~50miles). All I know is we cannot continue living under my parents' roof much longer.
