Just read a story on MSN and the way it's being reported is that this 28-year old father of two was killed by police when they believed that they were responding to a hostage situation at his house. Apparently two online gamers got into a feud and one threatened the other with swatting. The online gamer who was threatened gave the wrong address which led police to the young man's house. I know the gamer who made the call can be held accountable but I don't know if the other guy can too.

the one that gave the false address, i don't see anything they did that would be considered a crime. so they gave a false address. was it an address of an actual person? yes. did they know that person? no idea. from reading the story, it seems not since the victim didn't play online games.

also, why would anyone be stupid enough to tell the other person they were going to "swat" them? you don't tell them you're going to do it, you just do it. and if they threat was put on twitter, then there's evidence of the threat instead of just "word-of-mouth".

and the cop who just shot the guy with no warning (if that is indeed what actually happened); what was his reasoning? why did he not give a warning to put up his hands, lay down....something? instead....he just shoots?

i know it's a fresh story and more details will emerge later, but i highly doubt the police dept. will tell 100% their side or the cop's side. they hardly ever do.

Just got back from Father Figures and brushed my teeth. Put my clean clothes away, going to shower and go to bed.

We're doing the Keto Diet. Mostly meat and veggies, but specific ones. I'd lost 10 pounds before we started just by cutting out the IPA's (I miss you guys) and drinking more water. I swear, I went to bed at like 11:25PM last night and STILL woke up at the ass crack of dawn this morning...got a whopping 5 hours and 31 minutes of sleep according to my Fitbit. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Same here, my last day worked was 12/19.

While I was off, I jumped on two conference calls for a project I'm on but those two calls took a combined whopping 30 minutes max.

This is why I don't stay up late, I always get up by roughly 5:30 AM every morning.

I usually aim to either head to bed or be in bed by 11PM each night so I wasn't that far off, but popping up that early on vacation just plain sucks.

Brushing my teeth and watching the Van Helsing show on Netflix before I hit the Triviz trail for an 8 mile run. Definitely need to clean up my breakfast mess at some point too.

There are some good cops out there, but You know these other P*** keep getting away with murder... For once I'd like to see one fry for their crimes.

Trying to figure out why no heat is coming out on the left side on my electric fireplace, any suggestions on what I can try? I've took the back off to see if anything was wrong and everything looks fine, then I tried unplugging it for 30 seconds then plugged it back in, same thing, no heat coming out on the left side.

if it's electric, is it still a fireplace? i mean, is there an actual fire?

just curious since the fireplaces i've seen were the kind where you build a fire with kindling and wood.

It displays an image of an actual fireplace while generating electric heat. Fancy space heater, I guess

OR: cleaning and rearranging my basement. Made an area for my yet to arrive turntable and vinyls. I need an electrician to install more outlets.
