Brushing my teeth before I head to the gym for a 4 mile run and a lower body session. Feeling old today since I turned 38.

Family asking what I want to do, not sure, need to deal with some school stuff and study and talk to Valic.

thinking about my cousin who died early this morning

we all knew it was coming as he'd been pretty bad the last couple weeks. but it's still a shock.

he was an older guy who loved his family, especially his grandkids. he loved to go fishing and you could always find him with a smile and a kind word.

That really sucks dude, I can't imagine having a dead cousin, all of mine are still alive. RIP your cousin.

what sucks even more is i have 2 cousins younger than me, who i grew up with since we were like 2, who both have a genetic issue that was passed on from their biological father. it's a pretty harsh thing and slowly degenerates your body until you can hardly speak or walk. and both of my younger cousins have it. they'll both die from it; it's juts a matter of time.

but seeing them like that....it just puts me in tears every time i see them to know what will happen to them. and then i think about their mother. who has to watch 2 of her kids deteriorate like that, knowing there's nothing anyone can do.

something i read a while back rings so true to every person on this planet:

"there comes a time when life stops giving you things and it starts taking them away."

life sucks sometimes, it truly does. but i guess all we can do is keep on keeping on. my oldest niece has a baby boy who just started crawling. i take solace that he has an awesome family to take care of him and i hope every day that he stays safe and grows up to an age where he can say he lived a full life.

Just finished hand-writing my notes for chapter 5, started hand-writing the vocabulary as well but it's bedtime so to be continued manana. Back to work after a decent birthday, at least tomorrow's Wednesday.
