Sitting here debating on if I'm going to watch a movie or something short? Had a long couple of days. Took our old tv's and some miscellaneous electronics this afternoon. Ended up going off on some of the staff. A person older than me (or at least looked older) came out to assist me. She had to practically ask 3 times for a pallet to be sent out. Then she offered to help me with the 2 21 year old 27" tv's.

I told her no, I'd get it, while I saw at least 3 able bodied people "sorting" the bins. I ended up calling them on it and some douche knozzle named Patrick said he'd finish up my drop off. Thanks kid! But I'm already done unloading the truck. He came up with some lame ass excuse and the old manager in me kicked in hot, but calm. I even gave the "supervisor" an ear full. I'm thinking I'm switching over to Value Village for the rest of our donation stuff

Looking at cordless handheld vacuums online. When I’m ready, I’ll end up buying it from either Home Depot or Target.

I HIGHLY recommend this one. It has a great amount of suction, is reasonably priced and most importantly, doesn't lose suction over time. I loved it so much, we bought a second one:

Had a fantastic weekend complete with a The War on Drugs show late Friday night at a very small venue (11:30PM, I'm too old for this sh*t! ), some really good food/beer and an awesome hike with the lady yesterday. Now, it's time to bang out a bunch of work while it's still early/quiet and then get ready for the Calexico show tonight!

Side note:

Calexico has ties to Friends of Dean Martinez, an instrumental rock/post-rock band featuring members of Giant Sand, Calexico, and Naked Prey who's current and previous member include Bill Elm and Woody Jackson who (drum roll, please) produced the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack.

Frosty mugs should only be used for macro-brewed industrial lagers like Bud, Coors, Miller etc., you know, beers that don't have much flavor or aroma to begin with. A frosty mug is the enemy of beers with lots of flavor & aroma, like craft beers. The flavor & aromatics of craft beer are diminished if served too cold. Frozen glasses result in ice crystals which creates excess foaming & drinking beer this way numbs the taste buds & results in a bland taste that blinds the true taste of the beer. You’re pretty much missing out on some of the flavors & aromas the brewer intended, & you're ending up with a much blander-tasting beer when you use a frosty mug. Basically, cold masks flavor & aroma.

Beer loses about 80% of its carbonation the moment it touches the frosted glass & a lack of carbonation is considered detrimental to the enjoyment of a beer. Carbonation is the spark of beer, it delivers aroma, effectively stirring it while you drink & it contributes to "mouthfeel" & its existence, or lack of. A good rule of thumb is 48-50 degrees Fahrenheit for IPAs, 55 degrees for stouts, and 65 degrees for sours. Also, frost picks up the flavors of other things in the freezer, or in the air which can get into the beer, not good. This isn't opinion, this is science. In closing, I think we can all agree a flat beer sucks.

HOLY SH*T, this is spot on my feeling about frosted mugs, even when I'm at the bar.

School work with the boy. Unlike his mom, I'm not hovering over him until it is time to answer questions. Trying to get him all caught up so he can have a summer break once we move.

I was on my way back from campus when some wiseacre from Florida waiting at a gas station cut me off and then yelled at ME. Gotta wonder how people like that even get a license, the car in motion has the right of way, especially since he almost hit me pulling in. Just because you're angling your car in doesn't give you the right to go if the other drivers aren't allowing it.

The usual...waking up too early, catching up here while the caffeine kicks in, knocking out some work during the quiet time.

Getting ready to go to bed. Yes, it is nearly 7:00 in the morning here. Pretty typical time for me unfortunately.
