Just got back from seeing this in IMAX 3D. It was simply epic. Every frame was filled to the brim with 100% USDA epicness. This was filmed with IMAX cameras and seeing the movie take up the entire IMAX screen was nothing less than spectacular. It was big, bright, and beautiful. Like me after some tequila shots. Add on some really well done 3D and it was breathtaking. That's right. My breath was taken. Curse you, Thanos. Can't wait for the 4K UHD disc of this. #Epic

Heading off to bed. Ask the neighbor if he'd mow my backyard with his ride on. I wasn't getting a good cut with my push mower. Once he finished up and I got the Mrs and boy settled I mowed the rest of the yard. Even a couple of sections he hit a few days ago. Hoping my head cools down by tomorrow so I can shave.

I'm thinking despite starting late, I got a little sun on the dome today. Might have to find my ball cap if I start throwing shit in the dumpster. Depends on how she wants to spend Mother's Day. I've got a feeling she'll be okay with hanging with the boy while I get some shit done around here. The clock is ticking at the moment.

i'm sure you already know this, but you might want to take a look at the blades and sharpen them, a bit. i usually take mine off at the beginning of every cutting season and go over them to keep them nice and sharp.

i'm not bald, but i always wear a hat, regardless. one, it keeps the sun out of my eyes. and two, it helps to keep the sweat from running down into my eyes. i try to wear a full brim hat to keep the sun off my neck, as well. but if i'm using the mower, trimmer, or blower i have to wear my ball cap-style hat since my ear protection wont' fit over my full brim hat. i want to get these, but they're not exactly cheap (for me) so they'll have to wait a while.

So I said well I’ll sleep on couch and she can take my side. Apparently that meant she would sleep in the couch too for a sleepover. Thank god we have 2 big couches.

Today of course is Mother’s Day but it’s also my wife’s birthday. Woke up with the kids and cooked breakfast, served it to my wife in bed. Then gave her cards and some gifts.

About to go to work, will pick up a cake I had ordered afterwards.

Coffee, surfin and tunes.
Slightly hung over, but the Hockey Game and UFC fights later were great!

I wear a ball cap all the time. Yesterday while on the deck I took my sunglasses off because I didn't want the reflection getting my nose sunburnt. My arms are sunburnt a bit.

I was worried there for a sec.

Looks like a pretty nice backyard, sk33tr. How about some more beer pics positioned throughout the landscaping?

Ignoring the Cavs-Celtics game. I don’t want to jinx them, so I am making an effort to avoid the game on tv.

Wanting to do yard work, but it either rains or stops intermittently. I’ll probably do a little after lunch, anyway.

unfortunately, those were the only 2 beers i had, lol. my sister came over and i told her to bring me a couple from her house. my brother-in-law has a pretty awesome man cave with a full wet-bar, beer tap, 2 small fridges, full-size fridge/freezer, etc. so they keep a ton of beer at the house; along with various other liquors.

and the back yard (thanks)....it's a lot of work. unfortunately that "fish pond" is now just a pond. all the fish died and i'm going to drain it, fill in the giant whole, put down some pavers, and make a sitting area. i want to do something similar to this.
[Show spoiler]

i have a small table and a couple chairs i want to put there. and i'll get an umbrella, too, for some shade. the early/mid afternoon sun hits that spot directly and it gets pretty warm (i.e., hot). there's a japanese maple tree and 2 azaleas planted there. those will stay; but the rest of the area will be gutted and cleaned up.

there's another area i want to put pavers on. it's a small area so it shouldn't be that difficult. the hardest part will be getting the old grass and weeds up. the ground there is pretty hard; and i'll need to dig down about 6 inches for the stone base, then sand, then pavers. it's next to my patio and i want it to be level with it to make it easier to keep clean and so water doesn't collect anywhere.

to the left of that last picture is a small "garden" area. i'm going to put in some stone as a walkway. the ones you see in that picture will be used. i have a bunch like that and there should be plenty to make a walkway about 25 feet long and ~3 feet wide going from the patio around to the garden area. that will lead through a small arbor with a stone wall on either side, going to the fence in either direction. then, the whole garden area, except where there are small plants, will get filled in with river rock. there's a small, rectangular section of pavers and brick already in that area that will have another small table and 2 chairs. over that will be a pergola. and at one end will be a swing (that i made) hanging from a frame i'll make and anchor into the ground. around the perimeter of the garden area (where all the smaller plants are) will be rubber mulch and there'll be a hard border separating the mulch form the rock.

it's gonna be a helluva lot of work. and a helluva lot of money. but i'm doing what i can now, with the items and resources i currently have. but, since i'm doing it all myself i'll be saving even more by not having to pay someone else to do it; which would run in the thousands.

and since i've not had any work the past 3 weeks, it's been easy to get out and do something every day to get it cleaned up. hopefully i can find a nice, steady job that pays decently so it won't take me another 10 years to see it finished.

My old house had a pond but I didn’t put fish in it like most do. Just a nice fountain head and enjoyed the sound and look.

Yep, totally on the lawnmower, but I'm not going to worry about it. The new owner is inheriting my mower and weedeater. I've given them suggestions on where to take it to get it serviced down the road. Also keep in mind, my backyard was done in a way to prevent flooding. I'm hoping I can keep it maintained or only have to mow it one more time before we leave. My plate runneth over. Speaking of which, just listed the Jaguar on sale and need to get on throwing shit in the dumpster. I'll catch up with you later. Enjoy your Sunday and Mother's Day with your spouses.

Eating an ice cream bar (Fat Boy) after doing about an hours worth of yard work.
This is an ongoing project that I don’t see finishing anytime soon.
Sigh...........
