I'm quietly panicking on figuring out what we're selling and how best to make everything fit. I have to pare the movie collection down quite a bit and get new shelving, too.

We're downsizing to a 1000 square foot two bedroom place from a 2700 square foot home.

Good luck - that sounds stressful. I bet you'll feel great when you get it done, though. I hate purging my things, but am usually happy when it's done. Do you like your new place?

Marie Kondo can bite me. I watched a video and it just made my skin itch.

It's pretty nice and we'll have some good amenities. It's just smaller than what we're used to. It's time to do this and we've got more stuff than we know what to do with.

I'm going to Oklahoma to see my sister in a few weeks and she's getting some surprise gifts.

i don't know if i could ever move somewhere that was smaller. my house is 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, large kitchen, living room, den, extra room, utility room, and a small storage room.

if anything, i'd like something bigger...with more property...and a garage

Our kids are grown up and moved out. This house is too big. Plus my husband has problems with his knee and ankle. Those aren't likely to get better as he gets older. The stairs only make it worse for him. We want one level living and an easier life.

Downsizing is a big deal, but it's something we have to do.

yeah, the one level i can get behind. my house is a split-level. and i know my knees are gonna hate me in a few years (not that they're the best, right now). but i just wish all the rooms were bigger.
