That's where I was. The day I took those pictures, I was actually staying in Salzburg. I think I crossed back and forth over the German border a few times that day. I'm pretty sure all of those pictures were taken in Germany. I did want to get to the Eagles Nest but I never got a chance. My trip was quite spontaneous. I mean it was to the point to where some days, I would get into the rental car in the morning, grab my travel book and be like, "okay, what am I doing today?" lol

The wife's sister just pulled up for a visit so looks like I'm going bush-camping with my daughter this weekend after all, because I'll be damned if I'm sitting around here with that nag all weekend. Loading up the Jeep with our gear (backpacks and such) and getting ready to go pick the kid up from school, then to the mountains. Wishin' you all a great autumn weekend!

have fun, Mike! i wanna go camping, so bad. my sister always invites me to go with her, my brother-in-law, and their friends....but they do camping wrong. they cheat. they take all these fancy tents, a whole bunch of gear, hell they even take some little a/c units or little heaters.

me? just gimme a backpack with the right stuff and i'm good. i'll make my own shelter, cut my own wood for a fire, cook my food, get my water from a lake/river/stream and filter it for drinking/cooking.

I sure was. As you said, it's absolutely beautiful there. I'd like to go in the spring next time just so I don't have to deal with the fog. I did want to take a cable car or a gondola up a couple slopes but I never got around to it. As I said, I was not well-prepared for this trip.
Did you ever go to Berlin when you were there? I'm wondering what it would have been like before the wall came down. Have you been back to Europe since your time in the military?

I actually almost spent even more time in The Alps. Starting in Berlin and ending in Vienna was my original plan and that's what I stuck to. There was a time though when I was considering starting in Frankfurt and dipping down into the Dolomites region in Northern Italy. I decided that you couldn't go to Germany without visiting Berlin though so that's what I did. I'm glad I did too as it's a beautiful city and I've love to go back someday.

Sitting here listening to Blake Shelton’s Boys ‘round here on Spotify and deciding what I’m doing today. One of the cats woke us up by knocking a basket full of light bulbs on the floor early this morning that lead to a loud argument with The Mrs afterwards. Apparently it was very important to know how many bulbs we don’t use got broke when I’m trying to go back to sleep

went to my niece's house to cut up a big-ass limb that had fallen off of a tree in her backyard. then i dug up some hedges bushes in the front yard and got rid of those.

and then she told me to come eat lunch (she's a manager of a steak-house restaurant). i didn't wanna disappoint her, so i went and had lunch .

just got outta the shower and now i'm chillin' until game time.
