I'm making MP3 data CDs for my car so I don't have to lug around a billion CDs, even though I very rarely listen to them since I worship Sirius.

I'm doing a flipping hardware diagnostics check on my wife's Dell laptop...

I finally got it to boot... It kept crashing and then it would not boot past the initial Dell splash screen... After it booted to windows, found out the keyboard is not working so I am using an external USB keyboard... So far everything has been passing in the diagnostics...

Everything passed.

Just talked to Dell Tech Support... I will be getting a new keyboard, motherboard, heatsink and fan, and a new back which offers better air flow on Friday.

So, now, I am backing everything up since I finally got it to boot into Windows without crashing. Karen's Powertools Replicator is the bomb, BTW!!!

Thanks guys. I appreciate it! It is actually a pre-surgery rehab. Over the past 2 months, m health has really tanked and I am now on transplant list for a double lung transplant. I am working on my 6 consecutive week in the hospital. The rehab is to try to recoup what muscle has atrophy recently and to keep my body strong for the surgery.

you didnt use dell diagnostics and they agreed to replace the parts. in corporate support they are very strict about error codes etc. they have to be produced by dell diagnostics. happy you got it solved.

Ever since I got my PC fixed (about a month ago) Win7 would pop up a window saying my copy wasn't activated. I finally got fed up with the messages and wrote down my Win7 serial # and used their toll-free number.

After no more than 5 minutes I was fully activated and I'm back in business like before. Good on you Microsoft! Thanks!
