Woo hoo! I just heard the mail delivery truck outside, so I decided to check my mail. My Fallout 76 pin set from Best Buy was just delivered. Second order delivered on Sunday again.

Up ridiculously early this morning. Getting some coffee in and hopefully work up the motivation to continue downsizing..working on filling a large Uhaul box to take to the local Goodwill, really wish there was another thrift store here I could take it to that would actually help others but Goodwill will do. It's supposed to rain all day so it's probably going to be a chill day otherwise. GF and I may be headed into Nashville tomorrow depending on how she's feeling.

as far as I know there is one (which is ridiculous) Salvation Army in Lexington.
Speaking of which the there use to be more in VA but everything is goodwill which is a crying shame.

for me: drinking coffee maybe I will write today some more and try to get all out but its hard.

I'll have to look for it next time I'm up there, seems like everywhere you turn around there's a Goodwill. Don't get me wrong I've donated to and shopped at Goodwill in the past but lately it seems they're too commercialized and just out to profit, not exactly something you'd expect from a store that's only there to "help others".

OT: Nursing this cup of coffee and paying some bills. I'm also debating whether I'm going to run to the grocery store for a few ingredients for dinner tonight. We need to start menu planning or something, I'm tired of shopping almost daily...

Cleaning up the garage a bit more before I pull my convertible in for her long winter nap. Need to get some moth balls and other deterrent to keep the mice away.

At the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto on an overcast day. Thinking about checking out the Louis Vuitton store. I can't afford a single thing in there but the good looking, single women don't know that

Palo Alto is where the OPPO US headquarters is located. Go bang on the door and request that they resume player manufacturing.

Hitting LV? Go and pretend to try on some of those expensive loafers.

I didn't know that. I don't about the company but I have seen them mentioned here before.

It appeared that it was members only at Louis Vuitton so I opted to browse the Coach store instead. I went to see if they had one item which I wasn't expecting to find and they did have it. I didn't check the price in-store but it's $595 on their website I do really dig the aesthetics of the bag but I couldn't afford it.

Almost 100 4Ks and you were unaware of OPPO... It has been a while though and they stopped production in 2018. I wish I had picked up a few players before they hit the market for $1500+

Just popped my contacts in. Going to try out my new Ray Bans. while I run some errands soon. Prolly hit Sam's Club and Starbucks as well. Lunch will probably be at Popeyes. I missed double points at Jersey Mike's yesterday.

Opted to sleep in a little later this morning, currently drinking some coffee and finishing off some Christmas cards that I meant to mail off last week. Think I'm just going to pick up a couple Walmart gift cards to throw in my uncles' cards for their families this year since I haven't a clue what to buy for them. Got some errands to run today, and my Love just reminded me that the truck's coming overdue for some maintenance so might as well change the oil today as well.

Got most of my errands done today in Scranton. Sam's Club was packed even at noon on a weekday. I have a Plus membership, but never get there to take advantage of the early hours.

I only had a pear today for breakfast, so I was pretty hungry when it got to be 10:30 or so. I pulled into Popeyes around quarter to 11, and the guy said they weren't opening for another 20 mins. Stupid since they advertise that they are open at 10:30. Soooo they lost my business and McDonald's got my money today for breakfast.

I stopped at Steamtown which is a National Historic Site and run by the NPS located in downtown Scranton. They recently completed a cosmetic restoration on their Union Pacific "Big Boy" 4012 and it really looks good. Doc Brown would be very proud! It's a static display and does not run. Very impressive machine and you have to appreciate the engineering that went into it. It's the largest steam locomotive in the world. It is only 1 of 8 remaining from the original 25 produced.

Here are a few pics!

I also went to Best Buy to browse their selection as it's been a while. Their media section has shrunk even more and is just down to one small little 1/4 aisle/rack with a few standing displays situated throughout the store.

Best buy is maybe a year or two away from completely shutting the doors imo. Amazon is about to claim another victim imo, shame because i miss having brick and mortar stores around to get something when i need it.

I think it will take a few more years but it is definitely imminent. I feel like they'll close their stores but keep Bestbuy.com up and running. It is quite remarkable to see the store just get obliterated by Amazon. I didn't buy anything in the store today and I rarely do. It seems like the majority of their floor space is dedicated to cell phones and you're hit with it right when you enter.

I'll miss having the ability to walk around and check out new tech before I purchase it.

I know things can evolve but we're probably in the market for a new refrigerator and outside of Best Buy, the only other options is Home Depot/Lowes or an appliance store.

My fridge stopped cooling last year and I had the appliance guy come by the house. He was very professional and honest. These new refrigerators are closed systems and a ***** to repair if there is a freon leak. The best he could do was put a band-aid (his words) on it which would only be a temporary fix.

He basically leveled with me that I needed a new fridge. The problem was actually finding a decent replacement. The pandemic wiped out the appliance industry. I had to settle for a Whirlpool through Lowes, but my old LG still ran circles around it. This thing is just cheap with small shelves but it cools which is what I need. Glad I have my floor freezer in the basement.

Good luck finding something. Not sure if the appliance industry has rebounded or not.

Just got back from a 3mile walk around town, basically was just enjoying all the lights the town put up along main street and in the town center. They have a big LED tree that is synced with music every 20min or so, I couldn't help but feel a bit emotional about how much my daughter would LOVE it if she was here.

Just because I have almost 100 4Ks, doesn't mean that I've watched a single one of them
