Checking my daughter's flight schedule, looks like she's expected to fly in early tomorrow night. It's gonna be a long day of travel for her, early flight out of Seattle and nearly a 4 hour layover at O'hare damn. Oh well, it'll be nice to have her around for a couple weeks.

Think I'm going to go out and grill up a rack of ribs for dinner tonight, we have our first frost advisory tonight so that means fall is officially here and winter's coming so this may be my last chance to BBQ for awhile (doubtful, I've been known to BBQ on Christmas Eve in a blizzard no less).

Switching back and forth between baseball games. Texas/Baltimore game is going into the bottom of the 9th with Texas up by 1.

They’ve sped up the game with the pitch clock, 3-batter minimum, and limited mound visits etc., so people aren’t as bored. Some games go really fast now which is nice.

Coffee while looking at houses and planning a road trip for tomorrow. Kiddo ended up flying out with her mom so she's not staying with me this week, they're cleaning out her grandparents' house in Pennsylvania to sell it. I figured I'd go up and help them out, or at maybe take the kiddo to do fall stuff in Pennsylvania (they're in Amish country, so I'd imagine there's a lot of options).

Just finished watching my favorite film. I don't know if it's solely got the top spot or if it would share the number one spot, but Braveheart is a ****ing masterpiece. Everything about it, except some of the historical accuracy (from what I've heard), is top notch.
For me the standout is Angus Macfadyen as Robert the Bruce and Sophie Marceau

I used to work on Charterhouse St on the edge of the Smithfield area in London. William Wallace was executed a short way from my office and and my co-workers and me would frequently pass the big memorial plaque on our way to one of the many pubs in the area. Our Northern brethren would drape flags and suchlike at the site on significant dates.

That's cool quirk! I'm looking at the area on Google maps right now. I haven't been to London but I'd love to get there someday. Do you still live there?

Alas, no. I'm British but met an American lady and now live in FL.

That area of London is incredibly historic. Charles Dicken's worked and lived close by, and you are within walking distance of St. Paul's cathedral, Fleet Street and the Old Bailey.

If you watch the film Snatch, Doug The Head is drinking in a pub called "Ye Olde Mitre", which was right around the corner from our office. It's like being in someone's living room, but with beer taps and and the best toasted sandwiches I've ever had I think it was built 300 years or so ago.

I miss working in London - the history was everywhere and there was no end of cool venues for Christmas parties and the like.

What part of Florida do you live in now? I was stationed in Pensacola in Western Florida and my mom took me to St. Augustine when I visited her back in July. My parents live on the coast of Georgia now.

I have seen Snatch and in fact, I probably watched it within the last few months. I'll be sure to pay attention the next time I watch it to see "Ye Olde Mitre".

Your mention of Fleet Street nearly got me to watch Sweeney Todd tonight but it's almost 3 hours and I'm going to try and get up at 2am (3:30am at the latest) so I can't stay up too late.

How long have you lived in the States for?

I live about 15 miles north of Orlando. We try to spend a couple of nights in St. Augustine every year around Christmastime - it's generally a bit cooler there, and that, coupled with the older buildings, add to the seasonal flavor nicely. Some very cool history too.

I've been here since October of '99, which is pretty incredible. Seems like yesterday I got my green card. I was an internet bride

I know from your posts you travel around the Bay Area and into the mountains frequently. My sister-in-law lives in Sacramento and a few years back we spent time around Lake Tahoe, Placerville and Palisades Tahoe (as it is now called). Really loved it.
