Such a classic! We don’t get ‘em like that nowadays…
It has been a good minute since my last watch.

Sophie was such a great casting choice.

I've been here since October of '99, which is pretty incredible. Seems like yesterday I got my green card. I was an internet bride

I know from your posts you travel around the Bay Area and into the mountains frequently. My sister-in-law lives in Sacramento and a few years back we spent time around Lake Tahoe, Placerville and Palisades Tahoe (as it is now called). Really loved it.
My parents took a little trip to Orlando just a few weeks ago. My dad and I did go there once, actually the year before you got there. I was stationed in Pensacola and he came to visit me as I was nearing the completion of "A" school. We went to Disney World but I don't remember a thing about it really. I want to say that they were building a Universal theme park at the time and it looked like it was going to be awesome. Not that the exact time he came to visit matters, but I do remember that we went to see Ronin in the theater.

That's funny about you being an internet bride. Sounds like you haven't let your wife down...yet?

St. Augustine was really cool cool and I loved all of the colorful buildings. We also went to the alligator farm which was cool. And then we did an Old Town Trolley ride and that was quite interesting. We had also done their trolley ride in Savannah which was great as well. I'm not sure if you've been to Savannah, but it was great and I'd love to get back.

My parents really want me to come out and move closer to them. They know I appreciate the mountains so they're thinking Northern Georgia or maybe North Carolina. It'd be so hard to say goodbye to the Bay Area though and the Sierra Nevada. I'm glad that you've made it out here and seen what California has to offer. I was born here and have lived here most of my life and I still can't get over how incredible it is. Or maybe I can. I don't know lol It certainly has its problems but I love it.

I'm sure you've taken the misses back to England?

[Show spoiler]
She was brilliant. I loved it when she was talking to her, uh BFF, and they were talking about what William did to avenge his love. Excellent casting choice.
And I had Monica Bellucci as my last avatar and I'm glad to have their film Don't Look Back in my collection. A film with both of those beauties

I always love sitting in a theater and being pleasantly surprised when a trailer for a period film plays. I think the whole cast was brilliant and another standout for me was David O'Hara as Stephen the crazy Irishman. Always love seeing him in films.

My favorite lines though are from Robert the Bruce after he's betrayed William on the battlefield and he's talking to his father.
Lands, title, men, power, nothing...Those men who bled the ground red at Falkirk.

The speech and his acting. And then just the acting from Mel when he's realized that Robert betrayed him and he lays down on the battlefield and resigns to his fate. Brilliant.

I have a feeling the commercials are the only thing that keep you awake during the games

Making some macaroni & cheese and then I think I'm going to watch the movie 13 Minutes before bed.

Watched Dumb Money at the theater yesterday. Liked it quite a bit and was cool to see Dano in this role. Roaring ****ing Kitty!

About to go to bed, just bought a ticket to Hocus Pocus using AMC stubs A-List, also ordered a drink and a pizza for the movie.
Tomorrow I also need to:
Clean the house (mainly my room and the kitchen as well as where the dog sleeps) so the house is ready before I head to Michigan for the Grand Rapids Marathon
Going to sell the bulk of my 2k collection and a few 4ks to FYE so I have less to pack and a bit more cash when I move to Iowa next year.
Also need to water the plants and finish my laundry, going to be a bit busy for a day off from work

My wife loves England. Couldn't stop her hugging mailboxes and investigating every phone-box the first time we went. We've since been back a few times (my family mainly come here to visit us), and she is constantly remarking on how she would happily live there. If we had jobs that easily translated to the British market, we would possibly have relocated, but we're both in healthcare and that is a whole different beast in the US.

Ideally we would like to downscale and move to North Carolina when we retire, but with a ton of family located where we are now, that may never happen. Love the climate and the scenery up there, and Bryson City really left a pleasant impression on me.

We visited Savannah on a road trip to Ohio. Spent an age just wandering around the graveyard - such a beautiful historic city. Really need to go back there.
Ha, that's funny about your wife hugging mailboxes and being so curious about the phone-boxes. I've been to Ireland, was there 10 years ago today recovering from my car accident, but I haven't been fortunate enough to get to England yet. I'm hoping that I do someday. I belong to or I've liked a few posts from some photographers in England. I think I might follow or at least see posts from some England tourism type sites and the countryside looks beautiful. I'd love to see the various architecture there as well; both the old and the new.

I wish I existed in an alternate universe where I was brave enough to venture out of California. In the past, I've thought that I'd like to live in Boston.

I haven't heard of Bryson City but I just did a quick search on Google and it looks like a very charming town. My dad and I visited Asheville back in '97 and toured the Biltmore Estate. You may know this but the house was used as the rich guy's mansion who wanted revenge on Hannibal in the film Hannibal.
I've also been to Mt. Airy twice. That's where Andy Griffith grew up and was the inspiration for the town of Mayberry. I'd love to get back East someday. While I joke that we have the real mountains out West, that area has no shortage of beauty. And apparently in Florida, you have lots of crazy people that like to hunt alligators and stuff

Just bought tickets to see Tool here in Atlanta in January, should be a good one. Last time I saw them here in 2012, the sheer volume was making my pant legs flap, easily the loudest show I've ever been to.

Nice man, without a doubt right at the top for me with live shows. Hard to believe Maynard will be 60 years old next year.

Enjoy. The first time I saw Tool they opened with Jambi and as soon as the bass guitar hit I swear it made my heart stop. I felt like I had been cut into. Great band and they put on a fantastic show.

Oh yeah, always a killer show. I think this'll be my third or fourth show, but it's been a while since I've seen them and none of them have been in downtown Atlanta so that'll be different. Before that aforementioned show in Duluth, GA in 2012, we were pre-gaming at the now long gone Loafing Leprechaun and met Matt Ryan...he had just played golf at nearby Sugarloaf golf course, super nice guy but man, we were DRUNK.

Clearing out the ice tray of those frozen chunks of ice. I bought an ice pick recently and it worked wonderfully.
