Trying to keep my mind occupied. Definitely be going to bed early tonight. I’m just mentally exhausted by the sudden news my dog has cancer and will likely need to be put down.

About to shower and go to bed, sounds like tomorrow's 8:30-3:00 shift is basically going to be take the guy to an appointment and read till he's ready to go home. Fine with me, I just got my second copy of Cryptonomicon and made my way (eventually) past wherever I was before. Ready to finish it up ASAP and resume REAMDE. Tomorrow's 4-8 shift will be Peter Piper Pizza, mall cruising and chilling at the park.

My dog was misdiagnosed by the vet. She’s been limping and they did not take X-rays at first. Bloodwork showed Lyme disease. The antibiotics did not help. She broke her leg on Monday night and it was traumatizing to see her in that level of pain. I knew she broke her leg.

Took her to the vet on Tuesday and they finally took X-rays. She has Osteosarcoma which is cancer of the bone and it’s really bad. It weakened the limb which is why it broke. I wish they diagnosed her two months ago when I first took her. Now she’s pretty much Immobilized. They recommend that she be put down. Trying to spend as much time as I can with her. She did not want to come inside. She’d have to be carried anyways. So I’m camping out with her tonight to keep her company.

This is brutal.

That Triumph is slick and it's about $14,000.

Not sure when I'm going to buy one. Still saving up. I'm not going to pay cash for it but I want to put down a decent payment so I can finance less. I still don't have my license and this may just be a phase I'm going through. If that's the case, I hope the phase passes before I actually buy the bike

Thanks guys. Wabo brought up that they are part of the family and it is so true. Civiclx asked me what her name was. This is Abbey.



We made the decision to put her down yesterday. Probably the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. We chose at home euthanasia and a specialized vet in our area came out to the house to put her to sleep. It was so much easier and less stressful than taking her back to the vet. Abbey passed away peacefully in the yard (she loved being outside) with my arms around her as she took her last breath.

Hard to process (so many tears) and this is going to hurt for a while as it was just so sudden and unexpected.

My heartfelt condolences, my friend. It's hard. Abbey is a beautiful looking dog. I think you choosing for her to go peacefully outside in your loving arms meant the world to her. Damn. I'm starting to get misty eyed. I told the wife to dust better.

Abbey is stunning! I could get lost in her eyes.

My deepest sympathies to you. Saying goodbye to her in her own yard in your arms was the most loving way such a painful parting could be done.

Having washed up and time to kick back with some PS4. I have a ticket for an Earthquakes (MLS) game tonight and I'd like to go. I've been interested in watching them for awhile now but the match starts at 7:15pm which is 17 hours after I got out of bed. Assuming the game goes until 9pm or so, it would be a LONG day. And then I have work at 4am. Granted it's an easy peasy 4 hour shift that I'd knock out, I'm not sure I want to put myself in that position.
