Did some chores today as well and my back is feeling it after moving furniture. Did some dusting, vacuuming and used the swiffer.

We’ve got IGA here but it’s not great. They’re actually quite impressive overseas in Australia.

The sammiches sound delicious although I prefer garlic bread.

We've got quite a few IGA's in small towns in Canada. I find they tend to be in Cottage Country a lot here.

Actually, IGA's are big in small southern towns. Or they used to be. I remember growing up and visiting my grandparents in a small town that had an IGA. It was a good grocery store. Much better than these godforsaken chains. I love a good small-town grocery store. They also had a White Stores, which was a good one as well. They even had the S&H Green Stamps. I miss those days.

Lo Mein on the left?

Why is your Chinese joint putting rice in those little styrofoam containers? Probably cheaper.

So Americanized-Not legit! lol I prefer the traditional containers.

I dunno why they use styrofoam for the rice? Maybe to keep it warm and steamed longer? I also prefer the traditional containers if nothing else for their aesthetic appeal.

Yeah, from left to right. Veggie Lo Mein, Singapore noodles, orange chicken, kung pao chicken. Steamed shrimp dumplings for an appetizer.

Yeah…aesthetic appeal is pretty much how I feel about it as well. I want that full Chinese experience.

My father enjoyed Lo Mein, so I’ve always liked it since my childhood. I usually get the house special and they give you a little bit of everything in it including shrimp.

The homemade curry I had awhile back was delicious, still amazes me how good homemade food can be with the right recipe as long as you're willing to put in the work.

Time for a 2 mile recovery run then I'm going to swing by Neighborhood Market and get the groceries I need to make homemade enchiladas. Going to make them spicier than the recipe calls for because that's how I roll.

Homemade general tso's awhile back was fantastic, aside from me ruining the pasta because I usually don't make Asian noodles.

Playing a bit more SMT5-V before I go to a 4:00 training and then lift weights before dinner.

There was one time that we went not long after I got my driver's license. I was 23 at the time and I had my driver's license for a year or so. The folks on the boat checking IDs kept looking at me and at my driver's license. At this point, my family had already gotten on the boat.

Finally, the people checking IDs said that mine was fake and kicked me off the boat. I had to spend 3 hours in Metropolis before I could get back on the bus. There is nothing to do in Metropolis except gamble and go to the Superman museum. I tooled around town for the whole time and learned that they filmed parts of U.S. Marshalls there. This was a year before the movie had been put out. I remember it because they kept playing that stupid song Fly on the radio by Sugar Ray which was big in 97. I couldn't believe I got kicked off the boat for having a fake ID when it wasn't fake at all. Of course, I didn't look my age. At 23 I looked like I was 14-15. I still remember that day.
Haha oh man! Fly by Sugar Ray was a huge hit. Very cool that you got to see where US Marshalls was filmed. That is a very underrated film and unofficial sequel to The Fugitive. Hopefully WB will release a 4k.

That sucks that they thought you had a fake id. Did you get it in Vegas?

Chinese food in containers just isn't the same. Git you a restaurant/buffet with a hibachi grill station - you can make it as spicy as you want and it's cooked right in front of you using ingredients you pick out.

About to shower, got my lunch, dinner and snacks ready for tomorrow's 6-9 shift. Will have to get up early and make coffee then drink it quickly and pick up breakfast on the way to my shift and eat after I clock in.
