From Google.
That sucks. I hate being sick, but am on the fence about being sick right now. I'm totally fine, but if I got sick between now and Friday I would have to miss out on my family Christmas this weekend. Can't be sick around a newborn. It would suck that I would miss out, but then I could postpone Christmas for another week or so. I'm down to the wire on money and still have to get gifts for three more people before Friday. Oh well, it's that time of the year. I'll just make do.

I wish that were the case. I usually work even when I'm sick. Unless I have Covid again, the Flu, or I'm throwing up I am at work. It's this stupid work ethic that I've gotten from this job. I certainly wouldn't do it at any other job, I don't think.

I almost never get sick but I did get the flu and covid shots last Tuesday just in case. Think I'll get some Chinese takeaway for lunch before I go to the 4:50 Y2K and run 3 miles + lift weights.

Hit up a store called Cyxle Gear to check out helmets and then got a haircut and a shave. She did the shave with electric clippers but offered to finish with straight razor. I said the clippers was good enough for now. I use electric myself but I haven’t gotten this clean of a shave in years. I can’t remember the last time I used a manual razor.
I have gotten a straight razor shave once before and that was at a Turkish barber in Ireland while I was recovering from my car accident.

So now I’ve got an online class at 2pm and internet is still down at home so I have to decide where to go. I can either go to Dennys, IHOP, Costco and then Barnes & Noble or I can go to the Chili’s by my house.

I have used a razor forever....I even use one when shaving my head every other day. Electric just doesn't get the job done with me.

I loved Denny's myself (they all closed around me 10 years ago).....anytime is a good time for breakfast.

They closed all of the nearby Dennys? Damn. I’m still not sure where I’ll go yet. Costco would be for the cost. Chili’s would be for the convenience.

I need to stop taking public transportation. I get a call as I’m standing by the back door. I gave up my seat when a baby stroller got on. Bus stop, I’m at the back door and my phone rings. I don’t often answer it but I did. I left my credit card at the salon. I spontaneously get off the bus. Now, I don’t know where the bus stop to go back is. Turns out it’s back and on a different street. It’s not much of a walk but as I’m waiting to cross the street, the bus goes by. Luckily, it runs every 15 minutes right now I think.
I was pissed when the bus went by and coincidentally my class today is an anger management class.

They closed all the Denny's where I live, too. It was right after people started catching Hepatitis C from there. One late night me and a bunch of friends went into a Denny's and this guy working there was mopping up blood from a knife fight. That tells you how bad our Denny's were. Needless to say we stayed and at there. This was back in 2000 and there was nowhere in town open late to eat at except Denny's, IHOP, & Steak and Shake. I have anger management issues, too. Which is one reason I don't drive.

You are being tested.....things work in mysterious ways.

Yeah, all of the Denny's were shuttered like 2010 or so. Between Costco and Chilis', if money is short, go to Costco...your stomach won't know the difference.

There was a time I thought I might have anger management issues....but then I learned to let things go and not allow what someone does or if something happens to dictate my day...that I have full control of how I want to feel regardless of what occurs. If you let what others do or what might happen affect you negatively, that that has control of you because you let it...and if you think about it, why would you let something like that have such a hold on yourself.

I completely agree with that Fors*. I tend to be that way, for the most part. I do get upset when dealing with people on the road and such, but it's only momentary. I forget about it pretty much after I've vented. I'm not one that usually gets upset or lets things bother me. As mentioned before, I recently broke it off with a friend. But only after she had tested my patience and all. It takes a WHOLE lot to get me mad, but when I do get mad all bets are off. I don't see the point in letting petty things bother me. My friend that I parted ways with was the EXACT opposite. She let everything bother her and never let it go. Even stuff that had happened 40-50 years ago. Her quality of life suffers so because of it. But she has a lot of mental health issues and really needs therapy. But as that old song goes, you can lead a horse to water... I feel bad for her too because she doesn't need to suffer. But I've done what I could.

Put Date Night in last night but never started it. Closed my eyes for just a little nap and that was it for me. Just started it and it might be my first time seeing it since the theater but the movie was unwrapped so I don’t think it is actually. Anyway, John Matter’s Heartbreak Warfare is playing. I forgot the song is in this film. Rest of the film could suck and I’d still like it just for having one of his songs.

Listening to some live music from Sheryl crow and thinking about last night. I had the incredible pleasure to see Mike Mills perform a 3 song set at a local club last night. It was AMAZING. He performed with a local group my oldest sister is friends with. They played Losing my Religion, (Don't Go Back to) Rockville, and The One I love. He needs to put out a solo record.

I've never head of John Matter. Is he (I assume it's a he) any good? What kind of music does he play?

Mayer's one of my all-time favorites, dude is supremely talented and is one of our generation's most ridiculous guitarists/musicians. Seen him a ton of times in venues from tiny Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA to arenas. I have an unflattering picture of myself with him after one of the December 2005 Eddie's shows prior to his explosion for the release of "Continuum." I have a bunch of the videos on a flip phone > a hard drive somewhere, but here are one of the ones that surfaced around the time:

Stalling getting myself ready for today's long trip to see my pain management doctor.

I have been told that I am a pain and that someone needs to manage me.

This is my 74th appointment of the year and the 3rd of 5 scheduled over a 7 day period.

Once I am done with this batch, I have four more appointments to finish out the month and the year making for a new record: 80 medical appointments in a single year. I even have two scheduled during Christmas week. Ho Ho Ho.
