I believe Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps trained on 12,000 calories a day.

WHAT?!?!?! I can barely even get 1500 calories a day. How does someone do 12,000? Or 30,000 even.

That's why I have to go DIRT cheap. I cannot afford it for one. Plus, it makes no sense to spend an outrageous amount of money on groceries just for myself. I see food like gasoline for a car. The cheapest gas will get me there. No more no no less.

That's why I've decided to start making meals at home to take into work. I can make a huge pot (around 2 pounds) of spaghetti or mac & cheese for $5.00. I can have it for dinner one night and take the rest into work and it will last for two weeks. Which is WAY cheaper than buying individual frozen meals.

Your diet affects your mental health. I'm surprised you haven't been steered into a better diet by your mental health professionals.

Assuming everyone has access to a mental health professional in this day and age is a big assumption.

Not everyone has access to a mental health professional, but the person in question here has stated that they do.

THURSDAY:

I can't believe it's Thursday again and I keep thinking it's Friday.

I'm trying to get psyched for the Royal Rumble but I honesty don't even really know who is in it.

Oh well...I'm hoping for the return of Alexa Bliss!!!

Bake me a pie. K, thanks

No spend day today. Had a quick appointment at 9am and then came home and played a little PS4. Now surfing the net and going to look at the same apparel sites I've been looking at the last several days. I do have a choice to make pretty soon. I know I'm going to mention motorcycle stuff and, well it's been on my mind a lot okay. So I guess I have a 20% coupon to use on an item from Cycle Gear and it would make sense to use it on a helmet because that's probably the most expensive piece of gear I'm going to buy. I have no idea which one I'll get yet but I was looking at a couple that cost $650 to $800. I saw one that was nearly $1,000.
So, that 20% would save me a decent amount. Apparently, helmets can be returned within 3 months if they're not used. The thing is I'm still not sure that I'll buy a bike. Riding on the freeway in general and especially in California is something that kind of makes me all warm inside. And that's not a warm and fuzzy feeling, that's the feeling of the pee running down my leg

So anyway, I'm just chillin' right now.

Good luck....when I rode, I didn't wear one....so I don't remember the prices.

I am from the school of "its my life and I will do whatever I choose"...and didn't want to wear one (PA does not require one.) Not because they are not safe, but because it was my choice....and that was my decision. And yes, I was in an accident with my bike not wearing one. It was the other woman's fault......I anticipated the impact a second before the t-bone.....I jumped off my bike and rolled pretty far. Made sure my head never hit the ground....just had a screwed up elbow and lots of road rash.

When my sister went shopping for a motorcycle helmet she asked the salesperson why some were so expensive. The reply was a question he put to her: how much do you value your head?

Sitting here listening to Eleanor McEvoy's self titled debut, which I haven't heard in maybe 30 years, and watching things spiral out of control. I'm in my head again. This too shall pass.

It's never come up before, really. But I have doubts that my diet would affect or change my mental health all that much. I'm already predispositioned to have these mental health issues. Depression and mild bi-polar. I'm sure the diet might make it lessen some, but it will still be there. And the autism on top of that will only make it worse. Diet cannot get rid of or lessen the autism. That's what gets me most in trouble it seems. I get what you are saying though.

Wearing a helmet is a no brainer for helping to save my brain

And you're right Vilya, you can't put a price on safety!

You see, once you notice mountain bike helmets sell for upward of $600, a full face motorcycle helmet for $600-800 doesn't seem too bad. Sadly of all the bike accidents I've witnessed, and even have had in my youth, I've never landed on my head where the helmet would actually make a difference. A helmet isn't going to save you from breaking your collarbone, smashing your face into a rock, or becoming a damn hood ornament when you're hit by a car from behind. And the fact that just lightly dropping the helmet on the ground compromises the integrity of the damn thing really doesn't make me feel any more comfortable wearing one.

Anyway, drinking a coffee and filing my taxes before I have to get ready for work tonight. I still have to do my parents' taxes and the mother of my child's which I'll probably do next week.
Finally had a break in the sub-zero temps this week so I got out for a nice long hike a couple days ago; here's a couple pictures for ya @civiclx, wish I could've got out while there was still snow on the ground but around here snow doesn't last long and it quickly turns into ice which I don't fool around with.
[Show spoiler]
