I just got my home heart monitor connected and set-up; there was some shaving involved, too.

I have to wear this thing for the next three weeks. My most recent ECG found a new abnormality: a right bundle branch block (RBBB).

"Right bundle branch block is an obstacle in your right bundle branch that makes your heartbeat signal late and out of sync with the left bundle branch, creating an irregular heartbeat."

I am also experiencing palpitations nearly every day, sometimes by themselves and occasionally with other symptoms at the same time. Consequently, I get to wear this contraption for three weeks:

It pairs with its own smartphone to transmit the data in real time to my cardiologist's office. I have to keep this extra phone within 10' feet of me for it to be able to transmit the data, which means I also get to carry two phones with me now.

Did they give you a belt clip at least for the phone?

They say no one can hear you scream in space but they can if you have a hairy chest and need to tear off those heart monitoring electrodes. Nurse came in to hook me up and mentioned shaving me but she never did even though I was fine with it.

When it came time to remove them she only disconnected the wires and told me I could remove them off myself. I told her to leave the room. I’m pretty sure the entire office heard my screams haha.

So they don't like mobile devices in the hospital & offices because they say/believe EMR can interfere with medical devices, but they're ok with the inevitable use of your own phone in close proximity to a medical device - on your person - plus a 2nd mobile device in the vicinity?

Don't mean to make light of it, I just find it amusing that they'll still use the excuse of signal interference and tell you to put your phone away, but they're ok with someone lugging around a device that transmits a signal while wearing a medical device.

Hope they get it figured out.

And I can sympathize a little. I've been having bouts with rapid AFib the last few years. All my EKGs have been clean though, and I had a echo performed last summer and everything was clean there as well. I think it's related to EoE somehow, which I got diagnosed with last summer. I get PVCs a few times a day as well, but they seem to be diet/gerd related or if I put pressure on my esophagus.

They’ve done away with the whole “cell phones are bad” policy at the hospitals I’ve been to. There are a few places like radiology and the CT rooms, but for the most part, it’s not really enforced anymore.

Well that doesn't surprise me. Still happens here. Commiefornia California has a rule, law, or tax for just about everything.

No clip for the phone paired with the heart monitor; I can not even make calls with it, not even to 911.

I have cardiac tests so often that I have crop circles on my chest. Worse still, I am allergic to the adhesive used to place those electrodes and to all such adhesives designed to stick to the skin. This heart monitor will be adhered to my chest for three weeks!

I am a patient in four different healthcare systems across two states and I do not come across any of those old signs that prohibited the usage of cellphones or mobile devices. I have not seen any such signs for several years. I'm a "frequent flyer", too, having had 80 medical appointments last year alone. Even my CT scans allow me to keep my phone with me unless I am restricted to wearing only a hospital gown. Obviously, I have to remove my phone for all of my MRI tests.

The only signs that I see now, and inconsistently at that, forbid filming and photography.

Vilya, I'm assuming you won't mind if I ask if you're male or female. I thought you were a woman but I think most here think that you're a guy so I'm wondering if I'm wrong

I just got done watching Ben's Live By Night and I'm geeking out over the incredible song at the end credits; Foy Vance's Moonshine. Already nerded out over the song in the "On Your Mind" thread I've got his Jimmy Kmmel appearance, where he plays the song, going on a loop on YT right now.

11:02pm and going to stay up a bit longer and do what? Spank it? No, did that earlier today Think about where I'm going to eat tomorrow? Maybe a little. Think about motorcycles?!?!

I forgot you're in Cali. That was all you had to say. My hospital is a gun-free zone and they have signs posted everywhere as if the criminals will obey the laws. But yeah we have more "no guns" signs than "no cell phones" which is a bit funny.

Such a moronic rule - for exactly as you stated.

I don't mind that you asked and I don't even mind answering. I am male.

My picture is posted around here somewhere, too, but naturally not in the thread where people do just that.

Here I am, behind the spoiler, click on the attachment:

I spent over 6 hours of Halloween, as seen here, attending my experimental monoclonal antibody drug trial. I wore orange and black just for the occasion, but did I get any candy? Nope, not one piece.

Nice to see you Vilya! I'm pretty sure that I saw that post of yours about Halloween but if I did, I didn't see the accompanying photo

The VTA strike is going on for the second day today so no PT for me and I won't be driving anywhere. No biggie though. I may ride my bike back to the bicycle store and get some air put in the tires. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't have my own pump as I simply don't want to spend money for one at this time I think I might hit a Uhaul site nearby as well to ask them some questions about towing with a car, my car to be specific. After that, I'll either return home or...yeah, I'll try and get home and then I have my anger management class today which I'll most likely do at IHOP or Chili's near my place.

Just paid another $200 toward my credit card balance. I'm going to check out Adidas' sale on their site again. I'm liking some stuff but not biting so far so proud of myself

I win

Actually I can one-up y'all on both of those. One time after school, this dude named Jeff was hanging around in the alley behind the school. He asked me to come here and said that he had a new drug called Amazon. I took it home and tried it, but it didn't work as it was scratched. I had to go back to the alley and return it. Since there was no receipt he wouldn't accept the return.

Cooking chicken and stuffing. Made a big batch of chickpea soup yesterday and gave away about half to friends and froze most of the rest. Came out very nice with a mild dill flavor, but frankly a lot of work for soup.

All anyone got from this post is that back in school, some guy named Jeff took you into an alley and either he gave you a blowjob or you gave him a blowjob or both and yeah...

It hit over 60 degrees today so I hooked up the hose and gave the cars a good wash.

About two years ago I had body work done after a deer hit. The door is now rusting and I’m convinced the body shop did a crappy job. Of course they do not warranty for rust but when the rest of the car is fine it’s pretty obvious they didn’t do it correctly.

I’m not sure how to handle it at this point. Tempted to find a door off a wrecked one.
